1) Watch out for blocks of bloodletters. They will chew you up and spit you out. Especially if they are buffed or if you're hexed. Watch for a magic user to try and brute through a Birona's Timewarp or the LoFire spell that gives +1 to wound (can't remember the name). One thing to try might be warriors w/ MoK & AHW. If there's one thing that DoC don't like it's lots and lots of high quality attacks. 2) Watch out for Heralds w/ MoS and Siren Song. They will pull your units out of position to get charged and dismantled. It's especially useful on all the Khorneite stuff (I know, I said to take MoK warriors) as they can't opt to flee due to Frenzy. 3) At 3K I'm assuming he's bringing some type of greater daemon. A Lord or Exalted w/ MoT, Talis of Pres, some armor, a S increasing weapon, and a Disc to ride on will help. He's not the nigh invincible option that the DE get, but he's got a good chance to ruin someone's day. He may have a tougher time vs a tooled out GUO as they sport a whopping 10 wounds! 4) Tzeentch magic users will throw lots of dice and can pick from any of the BRB lores. A sorc w/ 3rd Eye will be useful. 5) If you know he's taking plaguebearers, take a unit w/ the Banner of Eternal Flame to negate their regen (he'll more than likely have a herald in the unit). 6) Nurglings may look cute and all but they can hold up your units quite easily. I've had a unit of 3 hold up a war hydra for 2 full turns (that's 4 rounds of combat!). 7) He'll could have lots of quick drops in the deployment phase - single fiends and units of 5 furies. They won't do a whole lot other than make you reveal where you will be concentrating your forces which in turn will allow him to set his line up for optimized combats. That's all I can think of for now. Hope that helps. |

As said, Warriors work well against most Demon types. Watch out for the -2 Ld Banner. Real pain in the ass and kill that BSB ASAP. |

OK, out of my head... For GD you can use tooled up WS3++ Lord on disk. For flamers, and they are a big concern if you have marauders you can use Exalted on disc with dragonhelm and halberd and 4++ ward save. Letters... Go with marauder horde with GWs on them, cause hiss KBlow will hurt your knights and warriors. On the other hand if he has smaller units of letters use wide unite of add hw frenzyed warriors of khorne. Due higher I you+ll kill pooload of letters. Watch for the heralds doh. Nettes are easykill for knights. S3 AP is no match to your 1+ AS. If he has plaguebearers flaming banner is your best friend. HellCannon is a miraclemaker against daemons. Lore of tzzentch als. Kill the BsB ASAP. He's one of the most important models in DoC armies. Herald of tzeentch wouldn't like your Puppet or feedback scroll. Divide his army ASAP. His units, due lower I, are no match to your warriors 1on1. Use warhounds. They'll do wonders for diverting and speeedbumping. I'll say, 1on1 no daemonic unit is no match to warriors and knights in equal size. You have supperior AS, better T, better I, if MoTzeentch you have WardS too, you have better S. GD can't kill tooled up Lord of tzeentch. You have the edge. Trust me. I play daemons and Warriors for years. Just watch for furies as diverters and don't go near the flamers with marauders. |

What's a good way to kill a keeper in a game too small to include a lord of tzeentch? Edit: besides a hellcannon, since that only has a 6% chance of killing her outright anyway Edited by brother_maynard, Jan 14 2012, 07:52 AM.

A game too small to include a Lord of Tzeentch is too small to include a Keeper of Secrets. Keeper costs more. Otherwise, Magic. Gateway will usually do significant damage to a Keeper. Augment / Hex spells will mess up a Keeper in combat. |

No, I mean 2400 pts. Too small for a lord of tzeentch on a disc, because of the level 4. And are you referring to shadow hexes and augments? |

In the case of a game at 2400, I'd consider biting the bullet and bring the Lord instead of the L4. Unless he's casting with Horrors, it's very likely that his Keeper won't be able to afford the goodies it wants while still being a L4 caster, in which case you should still be all right in the magic department (not to mention that Daemon magic is frankly a bit underwhelming outside of Forbidden Lore). |
