Well I'm kinda new to this but I was wondering if I was to put a chaos lord on Juggernaut with the fencers blades would it work? Being that its not to hand weapons but a set of paired weapons there no rules against doing this but is it feasible

Paired magic weapons work just fine on a mount, yes.

Yes I know paired weapons work with mounted characters. My question is more so about his effectiveness on the table top. Thank you rothgar but I think the question was misunderstood. I hope that clears it up some.

Ah, my mistake. :)

I don't know if it will make a huge difference, to be honest with you. A Chaos Lord is already at a quite formidable WS8, which means that the only thing it really does is make WS4 guys hit you on 5's instead of 4's. A Chaos Runesword can do that, give you +1 Strength, and let you take a Shield as well (not that it matters much for a Chaos Lord on a Jugger, but still). I think a Strength-booster will give you a bit more mileage.

I agree with Rothgar. High WS is cool, but I find that high strength is much more valuable.

So would a exalted on Juggernaut with the fencers blades and talismans of protection a better option?

If you want a wardsave, always go for the 4+. :) The difference of saving 33% and 50% of incoming wounds is huge!

Personally I'd go for Armour of Destiny, Chaos Runesword and a shield. 1+ Armour save, WS9 (WS4 enemies still hit him on 5's), 4+ ward and 7 Str6 attacks. :)

No...
You seem to be missing the points mentioned in the earlier responses about fencer's blades. Going from Ws 8 to Ws 10 rarely does anything. Strength is vastly more important, even more so with already high weaponskill.
The Talisman of (Non-)Protection is almost never worth buying, at least without Mark of Tzeentch. A 6+ ward on a 2 or 3 wound model is almost nothing.

Generally a chaos lord on a juggernaut is not a particularly good choice. He remains fairly vulnerable to template war machines, he is very expensive, he is not highly mobile, and he doesn't really hit *that* hard.

Actually, i have to disagree with that.
A juggy lord is our hardest hitting character, due to the extra attacks that mok and the mount provide, together with the ability to use a 2hand weapon and don't lose armour save.
@arandom
If u want to give a try to fencer's, I would suggest this: f.blades+talisman of preservation+potion of strenght.
This way you have 7 attacks, a 4+ward, and S8 for that turn you really need it.

So what would you suggest for a combat lord on foot ?

On foot? I'd roll with a Crown of Command, a Talisman of Preservation, the Dragonhelm, and a Halberd. He's going to be bunkered in a unit, so it's wise to get a benefit in case a combat goes awry.

Me too, I think you should maximize killing power, not making sure you always hit on 3s and are always hit back on 5s.
