Corsairs are alot more useful than the standard warriors, having 2 units of 16 instead would be more useful. I would probably give the Noble an ordinary repeaterxbow instead & give him Seal of Ghrond for some magical protection... Other than that the list looks stable... |

hey, DEs. nice list, but is your hero in a unit? I agree with the seal of ghrond, now you are too weak magic wise |

I find that shades work better in units of 5 or 6. Try dropping 4 from each unit and get another RBT. With the extra points upgrade one dark rider to a musician. You also may find that lifetaker looks good on paper but it's only 2 shots, you may want to trade it for the seal of Ghrond- you're gonna need the extra magic defence. |

Corsairs, they were my previous favs, but at 10 Points each Gaze of Nagash got rid of them too quickly, it gets rid of Warriors just as quickly, yes, but they cost less. I find that large Units of Shades seem to be more effective, more missiles and I have enough Shades for that many, I don't have a second RBT. Dark Riders and Musicain, most people seem to say yes to Musicains, but they seem pretty good without them for my perposes (I won't tell you what these are, you may steal them or use them against me). Yes, the Lifetaker is only two shots, but it's still better missile fire than a RXB, I have tested this list several times against the Vampire Counts, the Lifetaker taking enough Skelies for a 1+ Armour Save. I did infact think about Seal of Ghrond seeing I play against Magic Heavy Von Carsteins, but the fact being, in 1K my friend will be most likely be taking 3 Necromancers, I just need to kill them with concentrated shooting, but in the end, the Lifetaker won over me, and it proved itself (10 Kills in 5 turns of shooting!). And Magic Protection? Fast Cav, Shades, Skirmishing Noble, works well for me. :D Anyway, any other comments appreiciated, thanks for that guys. |

You play vs VC & have 2 dispeldice, how is he using his necromancers? Not very good if they go alone so you can shoot at them.... |

Neh, they go in LARGE Units of Skels, as I said, I gang up on them, Geneeral's Unit first, the Warriors are good back-bone if I need to go into Close Combat. This Army is the bane of Black Knights aswell. :D First game, turn 1, my General killed a Skel and everybody else managed 20 hits on a unit of 20, 15 of which wounded and wiped out all but 8 in the Unit, :D. Of course in that Game I was REAL lucky, half the dice I rolled were sixs when I was hitting, then half were fives when I rolled to wound, if that ain't luck, what is? It's proven, it's execellent, it's the best shooty list against Combat Armies, I beat a Chaos Army with Shielded Chosen! In Siege mind you, the Chosen were killed by turn two.... :D Enough Rambling, enough Boasting, I deem this List to work. |

That's fine, but sometimes you can't rely on sheer luck. Remember that. When you step it up to 1500 points, I suggest you get a scroll caddy, an second RBT and a second dark rider unit. I don't play DE but I have used a list like this in a tourney (friends DE) and did very well (quite fun too I killed a giant on turn 1). Also you may want to consider a unit of 10 warriors with RxB in one big line. Thats 20 shots there. I used this list in the tourney: Beastmaster Lance, armour of darkness (whatever the 2+ save thing is) riding a manticore Sorceress lvl 2, 2 dispel scrolls 5 dark riders musician, repeater crossbows 5 dark riders musician, repeater crossbows 10 warriors repeater crossbows 20 warriors shields, full command 6 shades bloodshade cold one chariot spears, Repeater crossbows cold one chariot spears, Repeater crossbows reaper bolt thrower reaper bolt thrower |
