The Thunderlord watched as the last of the Slaanishi warriors were slain ruthlessly by the denizens of chaos undivided and lagoth. He watched the two armies turn on each other, the ringing of steel on steel, the cries of dying marauders, the sounds of battle. He could not see their generals, but once one side was beaten, he could finally begin his army. He hung in the clouds, out of sight, riding on the great dragon Faeygre, watching the armies of what could only be described as flies floccking to each other. The ferocity of the onslaught made his skeletal face twist into a grin, as the prospect of a legion of the undead filled him with happiness. The flies were dropping, literally like flies, but what was unanticipated was the arrival of another. A horde of golden troops smashed into the side of the warring armies, made up mainly of chariots, and cavalry. "What the hell...?!"the Thunderlord muttered, spurring Faeygre downwards. They gradually got closer to the battlefield, and saw the tomb kings. Rows upon rows of their skeletal warriors, chariots, and cavalry, bonegiants were seen too, and a great casket of souls was held at the back. At the front of the line, a great tomb king mounted in a chariot tore all away in it's path. The Thunderlord recognised him. He was the same king from his vision in the orb way back in Altdorf-king Amenhotep III. Little could be said of him, bar the fact that he held much power, and it seemed that nothing could stand in his way. The two armies were all but spared. The army of the tomb king had full superiority over the battlefield, and soon his liche priests were at work raising the dead, much to the Thunderlords detest. He took no more of it, and smashed Faeygre into the nearest priest, before skidding to a halt. He went to move the dragon again but found himself surrounded by bone giants and skeletons. "So,"The Tomb king began,"it is you. A marauder once told me briefly of you Thunderlord, saying that your mystery was only matched by your necromantic power. Since you are too good to waste, i will bargain with you. Thinking quickly, the Thunderlord came to a conclusion. "What is it, master of the dead?" "Join us-the covenant of the damned. We are an alliance. If you join us, i'll let the fact that you just destroyed one of my liche priests slip, so i don't hsave to destroy you, like the countless others..." "Who else is in this covenant"queried the Thunderlord. "Chaos lord Dogan,"Amenhotep began. "Never heard of him..." "The Hunter of Khorne Zar Citanul,"He continued. "Citanul?!"the Thunderlord remembered only to well ofn their first meeting... "A blood dragon by the name of Karl Von Schiffeld, and that is it for now..." "This gets better and better... next your going to say Ni'andra, aren't you?" "Who?"queried Amenhotep. "It doesn't matter, but it's a good thing.. Leave some of the corpses for me too, and inform me of the plans fo the covenant." "As you wish..."Amenhotep replied, leaving around 30 corpses for the Thunderlord, and riding his army back to whereever he lived. The Thunderlord had made an ally after so many enemies... |

YouŽll just have to wait & see how Citanul will react, but it wonŽt be a reaction of Joy... Nice to knit it together like that whitethunder. |

Excellent work, whitethunder. I am particularly impressed at how you only mentioned the characters in the CotD that are actually on Miannantus. It gives it some believability (as much as a undead-raising necromancer riding a dragon can be.) ;) |
