It's an idea that came to me earlier. It's an idea, and i will further it if it is a popular choice. |

With all the great writers here, why not? It's a great idea and will inspire even more stories! |

Perhaps, but its so subjective. But I guess with propper rules, it could work. |

It is an excellent idea, but we would need an unbiased judge. For instance, some people may be more inclined to favor fluff written about their own god, or simething similar. Also, the judge would not be able to submit his own work, for obvious reasons. But it is a good idea. |

could somebody please tell me how such a fluff contest would work, for I have never seen one (never mind participate)? would it be just so that the judge says something like: 'ok, your fluff can be no longer then N words (N being a number ofcourse ;) ), all entries must be in by saturday' and then when all entries are in the judge will decide which is the best? or is it something entirely else? |

Well one way is to have one judge, but that will be unfair since diferent people like different stuff. The best way I think is the following. 1 organizer, who gathers all the entries from participants. He then sends them, without the name of the creator (so the fluff would have to be about something else than everyones standard character, otherwise its sort of a dead giveaway) to: The 5 or something judges. They judge, send the result back to the organizer who then checks who wrote the winning fluff and announces the winner. As for the fluff itself, having a guidline to the context and the number of words would be good. |

Maybe, i'm not sure who would win. This may not sound modest I think I might at least come in the top twenty, being a RPer and the writer of a book at this very moment. |

I doubt if there'll even be 20 participants, so I think I'll be in the top 20 too! thanks lightbringer for the info! I'm in! |

Wait! That was a suggestion, not info :P Right now we don't have an organizer or judges. |

I don't like the idea. I think fluff should be made because of the joy and pleasure of it, not because "I want to win a prize that shows that I am best!". But if the majority wants one, why not. I will probably not be with. |

True, but you have to look at it in a different light. It'd get people to write different fluff, or indeed write some fluff anyway. You don't just have to judge it on content. You could look at any other fluff written by them, and see if it's an improvement. Say someone who writes excelent fluff(Like say Snyggejygge) writes some good stuff, but not like how good previous fluff has been. But say someone who doesn't write great fluff(Can't think of examples yet) writes some stuff not as good as the other guy, but is good for them, they would have a better chance of winning the whole thing. |

This is no lie. Compare my fluff to that of other people. Short as a plank. |
