I've been doing a lot of thinking and playing around with an all-cavalry or faster Chaos force and with the concept of MSU and eventually I started thinking about combining the two ideas. Okay, the basic concepts are to maximize our frontage and minimize the guys in back. We're Chaos, even our dogs are better fighters than most armies! We don't need to have a bunch of (expensive) guys standing around in the back line adding 1 to CR, as opposed to smashing the enemy in the nose and adding CR that way. In addition, we've got a good selection of highly mobile units of choose from, and small units of them allow us to exploit that mobility even more. Now, there are plenty of units that will try to use ranks and outnumbering to beat us. Too bad. With better mobility and a large number of units, we can more easily achieve flank charges, taking out their rank bonus and giving us even more "frontage". So, here's what I'm thinking: 220 Exalted Champion, Mark of Tzeentch, Eye of the gods, GW, barded chaos steed 220 Exalted Champion, Mark of Tzeentch, Armour of Damnation, GW, barded chaos steed 249 Exalted Champion, Mark of Tzeentch, Golden eye of Tzeentch, GW, disc 295 5x Knights, Full Command, Chosen, Mark of Tzeentch 260 5x Knights, Full Command, Mark of Tzeentch, warbanner 36 6x Warhounds 36 6x Warhounds 30 5x Warhounds 81 5x Marauder Horsemen, Flails, Music 81 5x Marauder Horsemen, Flails, Music 81 5x Marauder Horsemen, Flails, Music 204 4x Minotaurs, GW, Mark of Tzeentch 75 5x Furies 132 4x Screamers |

Seemes pretty good. You might consider making one of your heoes a lord by dropping some marauder horsemen. Also, you could expand your knight units, as the are a bit fragile in their current state. Remember also, sometimes hard units might not be good enough to win combat, a bigger unit can easily best a knight unit that has had a bad turn in combat. Aparts that, again, a solid list. Happy gaming!!! |

If you know about MSU tactics you should know that the units are always backed up by a flanking unit (which shouldnīt be hard as most units have M7+). And that I want as many as possible striking in CC but do not care about rank bonus. And no I agree with most other people around here that 2 exalted champions are better than a single Lord, a lord never regains his pointsvalue in 2000 points and a Tzeentchian Lord would cost 400+ points, meaning a single character uses up 1/5 of my army ( I already think this list is character heavy, I try to not have more than 1/4 of the total list be characters). But thanks for your comments anyway. |

A perfect MSU list, donīt know if chaos can do MSU aswell as the Dark Elves though, but I guess this is the best MSU list available to a chaos player in just 2000 points... Report on how well this list manages in battle. |
