500p warband against orcs

I think it may be best for Lightbringer to concentrait his force. Take on or two enemy unites and throw almost everything you have against them so they break really fast. After that make sure he cannot engage you with the mass of his unites, pick on those that are a bit isolated and if you can aviod don't have any dangerious close-combat characters.

As it sound I would not recomend to try to knock his entire army out, take a piece of it and make sure he can't use his superior numbers to bear against you.

PS: A quite mobile list is best for this, and few if any really large infantry unites. And make sure you march block him with something if possible.

Magic: 6 Power dice! That's three dice per spell and even more damage than just the Mark of Tzeentch of the Character alone!

I found this list crushed Orcs with an Army like this:

Black Orc Warboss with nifty Items
10 Black Orcs
14 Black Orcs
10 Black Orcs
I think that's something like 500 Points


The Chariot flew round the Flank with the Character riding it, he cast a few spells first few turns at the large unit, bringing it down to about 7 in the first turn (I got both Magic Missile Spells and my brother didn't manage to dispell with his two Power Dice).
The Warrior impacted in combat in turn three and with their Great Weapons on Charge minced the rest of the large unit

Well, if it's any other Army list I can't help you.

Hmm this list is illegal, if a character rides a chariot itīs added to the characters points total, making you have a character worth 290 points...

I did. But a character like that is still over the maxdimum, unless warbands has a special rules for chariots, but I can't remember one.

If it's illegal, take him off the Chariot and put him on foot, then he can blast away as he pleases. ;)

And the Rules for Warbands, I don't know.

Eitherway, I'd go for a Chariot and either Marauders with Great Weapons, or Warriors with Great Weapons. (Don't you just LOOOOVE those new fangled tin-choppers?) :D

Great Weapons will make sure that their Heavy Armour is useless, as a -2/3 Save depending on which Unit you take, they're going to go munching.
And I'd also suggest, no, make that ORDER you to take Musicians incase you have to run away. Make sure that Chariot and that Rank n' File Unit can charge the same unit, otherwise you'll be giving him the game, make sure you Flank with the Chariot and Frontal Charge with the Marauders/Warriors.

Warriors w. halberds are better, S5 & striking first is better than S6 & striking last...

I think the next time I'll try knights for hitting, and lots of marauders to outnumber him (possibly with flails to wound easier in the first round).

Knights worked very well, and so did marauders with flails (they worked alot better than I thought). Now he has to change his list, because it in fact worked so well that he did not stand much of a chanse. :P
He is just starting with orcs, so its just good if I can expose weaknesses in the army so that when he gets a bigger one he makes sure to cover some of those weaknesses.

Now he is going to get boarboys, thats going to be intresting, they hit very hard.
