Hey guys, I am going to play in my first ever tournament come September. I was once a undivided player with above average success, then switched over to Nurgle for a change of pace. Being EXTREMELY unsatified with my Nurgle force, I've decided to go back to my undivided ways. The tournament is supposedly going to be set at 2,500 points (not written in stone yet) and is a GW Sanctioned event. In order for me to have a fully painted Undivided force (once again.....)up and ready by then, I'm going to need to have some high point cost models to save on painting time. Below is a list I've been playtesting/tweaking. The newest change is that for the General, I've gone with a dragon mounted lord over the Daemon Prince that I've been using the last couple games (the prince was fully loaded and level 4 caster). As a first-time tourney player, I'm a little hesitant. I honestly don't care if I lose every single game, but I'd really like to not be totally embarassed and get massacred at each and every match up. I'm really not sure what type of calibre the other players will be, and I wonder if I lack the experience to be much competition in a tournament setting. All comments and criticisms will be VERY MUCH appreciated. And please, don't hesitate to be brutal. I really don't want to receive royal a$$kicking in a public setting! All I ask is when making suggestions, please bear in mind that since I switched over to Nurgle, I have nearly nothing painted up for this new Undivided army. So, when making suggestions, the less models to be painted the better! The list: Characters Lord of Chaos 661pts Options: Great Weapon; Undivided; Armour of Damnation; Gaze of the Gods; Helm of Many Eyes Mount: Dragon of Chaos -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorcerer of Chaos 135pts Options: Undivided; Dispel Scroll(x2) Units 1 x Beast Herd 140pts Options: Musician; Standard Bearer; Champion; 7 Gors with add. hnd. weps.; 14 Ungors with spears only. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5 x Knights (Chosen) 370pts Options: Musician; Champion; Standard Bearer; Khorne; Banner of Rage -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5 x Marauder Horsemen 91pts Options: Flail; Shield; Musician -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20 x Warriors of Chaos 415pts Options: Additional Hand Weapon; Champion; Musician; Standard Bearer; Khorne -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19 x Warriors of Chaos 315pts Options: Shields; Champion; Musician; Standard Bearer; Undivided -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9 x Chaos Furies 135pts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 x Chaos Giant 205pts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5 x Warhounds of Chaos 30pts Thanks in advance to those with advice. |

Tough looking list! I think the whole Chaos Lord on a Chaos Dragon is overkill really, and usually frowned upon by most players at Tournaments... I also feel that you're taking a HUGE risk at failing a Leadership Test with your general for Stupidity! Yeah, I know that you're Undivided, and that you get to re-roll failed Psychology Tests, but if you fail it once, you can definately fail it again! This could potentially cost you your general, and give away 761 VP's! Other than that, I think your Herd is a bit too big, and that the Warhounds are a waste of points... Good luck and let us know how it goes! |

First of all there is only a 1/36 (~2.8%) chance of failing the roll twice in a row. So assuming six turns per game that is only once in six games. Secondly, its not that much of a disaster. You do risk wander of to a bad possition, that is probably the worst that can happen. In a fight your Lord has a 50% chance of not attacking (remember, its not halving the number of attacks, its halving the number of models that attack, rolling a dice for any uneven models. But the dragon will fight. So if in a combat, there is only a 1.4% chance of anything bad happening, and if that very unlikly thing happens you still have the attacks from the dragon. So I don't think its much of a risk as long as you are carefull where you put him so he does not wander of the board or something. Oh yes, this should be in Army Lists. Moved. |

Firstly remember your phycology...seriously, as a chess player i can honestly promise you that a phycologocial advantage over your opponent can win it for you. My phycological chess warfare has destroyed many opponets, they will fall to the ground screaming for the torment to end! Or maybe thats just the effect i have on people  But seriously, be cool, carm, confident. Yeah three Cs. Be friendly to, but not TOO friendly, laugh and exagerrtae distress at your failures but DON'T associat it directly to the game, thats important make your opponent seem like you are in control, a combination of fast moves and slowly pondered moves is the best way, in complex looking movement situations where you have multiple choices go with your gut straight away. On the otherhand when a situation looks fairly simple stroke your beard and look thoughtful, you can even try doing a bizaare move, provided it is not to crazy... As for the list, well it pretty crazy and you may not be too appreciated for taking a dragon :) BTW thx for moving it while i was replying LB, i got an evil message about the post data not being in the database :o |

Thanks guys! But this is actually an older list. The tournament has since been switched to 2,250 points and so has had me rethinking things. Currently, I am juggling between a Undivided (mostly Khorne troops) army led by a souped up Undivided Daemon Prince or a just totally devoted to Khorne list. |
