Okay, here goes. This is for a 1000pt campaign that our store is doing to celebrate the release of 7th ed. I will probably face: dwarfs, brets, more dwarfs, dark elves, high elves, empire, lizardmen and more dwarfs with it. Which means Im going to get slaughtered, cause its a Tzeench list! Also, we are using the new rules, and my magicians are known to be the worst ones there are for miscasts. (1,1 to miscast then a 1,1!! All the time! ARG!)

Exalted Champ
Mark of Tzeentch (Hmm, I wonder why ;) )
Spell Familiar (Because 2 spells are never enough)
Golden eye of Tzeentch (To try and piss off dwarven shooting)
Flying Disk of Tzeentch (so I can fly in and smack something, then get the hell out of there)
Shield

3 + Save
3 + Long range ward save
Generates 2 PD

- 262

12 Warriors
Shields
Mark of Tzeentch
Full Command

- 230

16 Marauders
Great Weapons
Light Armour
Full Command

-128

16 Marauders
Flails
Light Armour
Shields
Full Command

-128

Chariot
Mark of Tzeench

-140

3 Screamers (wizard hunting)

-99

Total - 987

Left over - 13

Men - 48 and a chariot
PD - 6
DD - 4

Well, if you are going up against lots of dwarfs then you might want to consider something a bit faster somewhere. You don't really have anything good for flanking, and only your warriors will be good enough to defeat the dwarfs head on (expecially after then shooting at you for a while).

And this should be in armylists. Moved.

Apologies, didnt see that forum

Anyhow, I could lose one marauder unit, and the light armour on the otehr, and get a bare unit of 4 chaos knights, but that'd be a very small army indeed. Should I? Or other suggestions welcome. Be warned, I have a 60 quid spending limit, although 2 screamers, 1 unit of marauders, the chariot and a lord on disk have already been bought. So, I have £60 to spend on 371 points (The first £5 go towards a screamer)

I would have the tzeetch champ with armour of damnation, great weapon, spell familar and barded steed, have him leading 5 chaos knights, take a unit of 4 chosen knights too, only give these standards, but give one the warbanner (doesnt really matter which)

Thats 660 pts so you can get two units of 6 warhounds too screen bringing it up to 732 and a chariot up to 877, then 3/4 screamers. This should work well against dwarfs as you can happily crush even hardy dwarf warriors, whats more with the screens and their good a/s the knights are pretty resilent too guns/bows/crossbows etc. One important point to remember vs dwarfs is to avoid his organ guns at all costs, you probably already know how sick they are...

Small units of elite infantry just won't work against most of those armies you have listed, small units of elite cavalry may.

See mistea, that would really work, if it were not for the fact that I do not have the money to get warhounds. Warhounds are horrible for cost - its like £6 for two, but its effectively only 2 points per £1. So, twelve warhounds is £36, which is about 1.5 times the cost of a unit of chaos knights.

Also, that'd be about £100. I already stated I have £60 to spend.

How about adding a 4 man unit of chosen knigths and a unit of normal knights (5 man)

this would give me:

1 Character on disk (15" move, so can move with the knights)
He could have the armour of damnation and a spell familiar.

4 Chosen Knights FC
5 Knights FC

16 Marauders, Light Armour and Shields (or GW)

Chariot.

If I drop one thing from the commands (like, say, a champ or standard bearer from each knight unit, i could give them a mark of tzeench, giving me... 7PD) Along the course of the campaign, wins give you +D6*10 points, so to start I could add in the rest of the commands for the knights.

Well?

Hm... how about mixing in some beasts? Minotaurs should be good flankers and give you some hitting power. Although I am not really sure how well they would do against dwarfs.

Minotaurs might work... I was tempted even to take a dragon ogre shaggoth, just for sheer killiness (either 5 attacks at S7 or 6 attacks at S5, depending on weapon choice) Obviously you wouldnt take armour with them, as thats a waste against dwarfs.

Also, gotta watch my specials if Taking minotaurs - chosen are special remember... no wait, I'd have just enough.

Wow, minotaurs are pricy... theyre 10 quid each!

See, chosen knights have better AS, have better WS, same Strength (basic), way less attacks though... chosen knights have almost as many - 11 aattacks at WS 5, S5, or 10 at Ws3, S7... I think Id rather have chosen actually...

Most people belive that the Shaggoth is a waste of point. If you want something big an mean, take a giant. Much more pointsworth.

Ogres are unpredictable, and fall over far too easily.

You mean giants right? :P
Yeah, they are unpredictable, but Shaggoths are just to expencive for what they do. Although they are dead cool.

Oh yeah, you should consider a spawn. In small games they can be really irritating for the enemy. Although against dwarfs they do rather little, so perhaps its not for you.

Spawn, me hates. I consider Tzeencth far too intelligent to allow such a mindless beast., He only mutates to reward or to gain. In less, of course, a spawn would work towards his plan. Anyhow, night y'all.
