I have kind of slipped into the realm of the silent as of late and even though I still come to read posts faily often the post I thought I should share some of my reasongs why I've not been contributing. I wont go into the good points as everything I would have to say has already been voiced several times. To be brutally honest I find the forum stagnant, it (at least to me) seems to be the same posts over and over again. People coming to ask the same rules questions or post the same lists, (I am also guilty of doing this) while this is great for beginners to our wonderfull hobby I feel that we could use something to keep some of the more seasoned folks interested. Perhaps I just need to participate more in the regular going ons such as CAoD though to be honest I have no idea how it even works nor am I sure I have the patience. I belive the main reason that we all are drawn to sites such as COTEC (at least in the beginning) is for our love of the game. We have questions about the rules and strategy in the beggining and need a place to find answers. Once we learn our choses armies and the rules become routine we tend to stop our posts and fade into the background. Perhaps if there was more content to do with the gaming and hobby directly this would not happen so much. Some suggestions that may help are a painting contest, (pointless as it may be since Trogdor would surly win) some tactical articles (already mentioned), maybe a few articles on doing cool conversions, and what I would LOVE to see, some scenarios. Unfortunatly I am not a very creative person, oh I can come up with a couple of ideas for paint sceams (sp?) but I am not truly creative like some of the folks that frequent the site. This leads to my games to be rather repetitive. Ive modified some of the GW scenarios and by some I mean one. Which turned out to be rather broken in the end. I believe that if we had some really cool scenarios for Chaos vs different armies that it would help with our activity and draw more people to our site. Just my two cents. |

Well, one thing I really don't think works here is the actual forum organization. The order of the forum seems a little cobbled together, and could stand some clarifying. Here's how I would organize the content here if I were in charge, so take what you will from it. -News -Forum Comments These are fine, but I think the line between them is a little blurry. -Chaos Star I know the Chaos Star is the pet project of COTEC, but it really belongs at the bottom of the forum. Is the first thing you want people to think when they use your forum that they should go somewhere else? No! This also means veteran users of your site are forced to scroll down more. I think that the big change that'll make the difference is that the chaos forums should come next. You can merge tactics and chaos together, since there's not much chaos people will be posting without tactics. Just consider this a general forum, and let people be flexible with what exactly fits in there. Your current 'general discussion', along with 'tactics' are splitting the effort between 3 forums, and they make it look like the 1 topic all three cover, which is moderately slow these days, is actually 3 very slow forums. Armylists is natural to follow that, then your painting and converting forum. It could go either way, but I like the army diaries as a subforum. Fiction fits nicely in this group as well. I'd just allow all fiction in one forum, considering it's not the most lively forum in the best of times. I do know you have some particularly brilliant fluff writers here, but I don't think it'll be hard to navigate it with a little extra activity. So I'll pause here, and point out that in a page and a half of the forum, you've concentrated the heart of why people will come here: chaos advice. Now you follow up with things like other armys (your general discussion), other gaming systems, other games (rpgs if you run them , CAoD, etc..). Finally, off topic then chaos star. Taking the advice you thinks fits from there will make the navigation a little more logical in my opinion, which makes the forum a little difficult at the moment. |

Before i start i would like to say that this is my first post on this forum. I know that this post has been dormant for around six months but i felt that the most important thing about this website is the difficulty in which it proves to find it or any other Chaos mortal forum in fact. For example i collect Dwarves and have done for a long while now and whenever i was starting out collecting them i typed in Dwarf Forums into Google and Bugmans Brewery appeared first or second on the search results and i registered and i visit there ion a regular basis along with the Round Table of Bretonnia as i collect Bretonnians aswell and i found that site by typing Bretonnia forums into google. Whenever i decided i would like to start a Chaos mortals army i couldnt find a forum nomatter what i typed in although i found the Herdstone quite easily. The accessability in my opinion limits the amout of users able to use this site and post there opinions and read others and whenever we look at the amout of registered users on these other forums Bugmans brewery boasts over 5000 users, the Round Table of Bretonnia over twice as much as Chamber of the Everchosen with over 1700 at the time of writing and even herdston has over 2000 registered users compared to CotEC's 800. My point in this is that CotEC despite being a great forum is difficult to locate and if not for asking sombody if the knew a chaos mortal forum on a different forum i would not have found this site. So in my view the accessablity of the site needs to be greatly improved if the forum wants to move forward and perhaps make stronger links with other Warhammer forums. :) Sorry if i have lingered on, Chaos Mortal If this post is dead i apologise for resurecting it but i feel that this was an import point that needs to be acknowledged. |

Hello all. As someone who has just found this site through starting my new army (I play Empire and Tomb Kings and am just building a Nurgle army), I would perhaps like to add my very first impression : The board is really dark! Grey text on a charcoal background makes the site extremely difficult to scan through. Ten minutes reading this thread was enough for my eyes. Would there be any chance of making the colour scheme a little clearer? Cheers |

I think the main problem with finding the chamber was alot of people found it during SoC (thats how i did), after then it was slowly forgotten, certainly i think having a few more road signs would help alot however i think what the site needs is more interesting discussions to keep things interesting. I guess a nice idea would be start something like Siege for 7th ed, taking what we can from 6th ed and altering better to fit with logic and newer rules (i bet you people would find such a topic interesting and would certainly generate abit more life here). Painting competitions would be great, i think the problem with the last one was it was restrictive, perhaps if it had just been a mounted model it could have done better (personally i only have heroes on daemonic steeds now!) I also liked the sound of fluff competitions, i think it would be great just have a nice section of expanded chaos fluff. Another thing would a rumor forum! |

Just found this thread now. This is honestly my favourite forum as the people are generally more hospitible than other sites and there's never any personal arguments. |

I love the look and feel to this forum. It hits the nail on the head for what I like about Warriors of Chaos. The Shoutbox, however, takes up a ton of space. :S I am not that fond of it. As some of you may know, I run a moderately successful forum, Chaos Dwarf Online. The way I have set it up is in three pillars, The Site, The Forum, and The Wiki. The Site is for premium content: http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/ (check out the gallery) The Forum is for discussion: http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum The Wiki is for all information about Chaos Dwarfs! http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/wiki It's a simple structure but it gives people tons to strive toward. Plus, we have regular painting competitions, a new Webzine, and also our own podcast. :) The other very important thing is extremely active staff that have the power to enact new ideas and keep things fresh. :) Some things to think about anyhow. This is the time to raise this place from the dead and ramp it up for the Warriors of Chaos release. Don't miss the opportunity. |

I'm not as keen on here as asrai.org, I feel that some people are a little touchier and things are taken a lot more seriously, and off topic is dead. But the setup is nice, the only thing that annoys me is the fact that disconnecting registers all the topics as read and the system assumes that I haven't read my own post... |

COMPS! we NEED competitions! They're nice, inspiring, motivating, fresh, variating and they pull attention! The thing I've noticed here is that every activity here consists of discussion, with the odd picture-stuff here and there. Most of the discussions that are being held are about how to make a good armylist or about WOC. This makes the forum quite monotone I guess. There's some dead forums on these boards (AoD, Fiction,...) and the campaign seems to be there still while it actually never ran (the campaign was the reason I joined the forum in the first place actually, although I found the site to be nice and welcoming so I stayed :P ). I don't know for sure but the forum could use some more entertaining, inspiring interactive stuff than just discussions. -_- PS: I would hate to see this forum go down because it's best (if not only) mortal chaos forum and I wouldn't have a home anymore  I'm happy I see the opposite is happening as the active topics page is getting longer these days and the only list also is ^_^ |

Hurt & heal is nice, we could do one when the new book arrives & do it on the specialcharacters. Some competitions would be fine, it could be everything from a fluff competition to a painting competition. |
