i'm a noob to chaos, though since i play skaven i have an association with the dark gods. i just got unit of ten maruaders from a friend and i named them the soulripper tribe but i am not sure on which god to follow, it's ethier nurgle or slannesh. i'm leaning torwards grandfather nurgle but i thought you guys could help, so suggestions are welcome. |

Well it does depend on your playing style & what you like model wise. Nurgleīs characters are really tough & cool modelwise, but the troops are very few (unless going marauder & beastherd heavy) since the mark costs a lot 6 the magic isnīt the best lore. Slaanesh troops really donīt get much of a benefit from undivided (except autobreak from fearcausers, but lose the ability to flee), they have the greatest lore among Chaos & you can have naked chicks in your army! |

Said like a true nerd, snyg :D ;) Slannesh armies are faster but more fragile then those of Nurgle, and as Snyg said, the Lore is just plain awseome. It also depends on your opponent. If you play undead, then the Mark of Slaanesh's Immune to Psychology will play a massive role, whereas against others it would not. |

well the two main people who usually play at my store's fantasy armies are both types of undead. and from what you are saying i should play slannesh, then alright, i will get an aspiring champ model in a day or so. anyways i had this idea to convert these empire knights into somewhat chaos knights because of a cult taking over and tainting them, making them wopshipp slannesh etc, etc. what do you think? |

Sounds awesome! I think people have tried the 'Empire to Chaos' conversions (hell, I know I have!) before, but I have yet to see any good pictures, so when the stuffs done, be sure to get some pics up, as I for one would be very interested in seeing how the army turns out :) |

Hell yeah, my GF always asks why there are no girls in my army, I say there are none as I really donīt want to show her the daemonettes, she would just call me a pervert... Yeah Slaanesh is a little better against Undead, but on the other side, youīre immune to fear when playing Nurgle as well... Looking forward to see any Chaos/Empire knights, because as Acolite said, many do this, but not all that many makes it good... |

Well, at least you have a gf to hide your daemonettes from :D . Oh yeah, I forgot about the whole fear thing too... of course they will also be immune to his fear, making the mark less worth it. |

Don't use epire legs with Marauder bodies, especially arms... it doesn't work, trust me ;) Heads can just pass, but it still looks wierd. |

No problems, but yeah there is a single girl model in my army, an old Dungeons & Dragons adventurer w. a Great Sword which looks good enough to be a unit champion |

i am just using arms and heads on empire knightly orders as chaos knights, everything else is basically going to be standard. now what should i start with after a champion of slannesh, ten maruaders, and 7-9 chaos knights? btw snyyg can you post a pic of this unit champion please? |

Some more infantry, a regiment of warriors couldn't hurt. Warhounds are always great to have since you can use them as screeners for little points. I'd personally get some Marauder horsemen to support your Knights since they will probably end up needing it against big regiments. I asume that you'll be playing a Slaanesh army so some Mounted Daemonettes, that are fast cavalry as well and has a nice movement, could work too. Plus, they are naked chicks. :P Just remember that Mtd Daemonettes cannot flee (not sure of this since I still haven't read the rulebook) so if you want bait for enemies use the Horsemen instead. But nevertheless they are probably great as supportive units since they cause fear, can easily flank the enemy units because they are fast cavalry with a really nice movement and the Aura of Slaanesh could probably be very helpful. Not sure about the poisonous attacks from the steeds though, but the steeds also attack first even if charged. I must warn you, never played with them and they do use a lot of points so you better just try out a few battles and see what suits you. I'm sure other people here can give you better advices about the future of your army. Nevertheless I think you could need some more core units in your army before taking special units or anything like that. |
