With the release of Fall of Kings, CAOD has not been forgotten with the Fields of Arasha being unleased to battle over. This is a very, very different arena and alot is different about it. For starters you are in green fields, no longer a single arena. Secondly and probably the most exciting is that you have a huge range of terrain to not only place on your arena, but you have the option of resizing them, rotating them to how you see it and switching their layers. Its a grand step and will lead to significantly better arenas and types of CAOD for the future. http://www.chamberoftheeverchosen.net/caod_arasha.html |

Looks really great, but how on earth are you supposed to get it to look the same as your enemies field ;) Possible but hard. What this needs is a save field option. Would it be possible to save a txt file with the coordinates of things, including people, and then use an uploading function (or manualy enter them into the page) to get the exact same field? That way two people could use the exact same field, and if you play a long game you could even save your possitions and continue later. |

I had the exact same issue as LB here. Especially with the rotation option, it's very hard to get the exact same field as your opponent AND the umpire. Otherwise, I must say this does look absolutely stunning Bearer! |

Well one way is to state where the middle marker goes, and where the top right corner goes once you rotate it. Like take forest 1 and place the middle marker at L5, the rotate it untill the top right corner marker is at P9. Then it will look almost identical. But it would be bothersome in the long run. |

I think a short term but a very quick and workable solution is to use the Print Screen function. Just press the button, paste it into MS Paint save it and send it. I will do a little tut on this and release it as a PDF. Its really simple to pick up, but useful nonetheless. |

And for mac users, Bearer? :P Luckily all newish macs come with the Grab tool (well, my OSX does, at least), which acts in the same way. Just start the app, click Apple+Z, then a little box will come up on the screen telling to you click anywhere on the screen, or cancel (theres a cancel button in the box). Just click somewhere on the screen, and a new jpg document will open with your screen already pasted onto it. simple. |

meh, I like McDonalds, thats as far as my love for 'mac' goes. I do like their iTunes and iPods though , but I'd rather call them Apple iTunes and Apple iPods, because I like apples haha. A tutorial for creating screenshots can be found in the CAOD section. |

Screenshots is one way of doing it but it will take an age to set up a battle properly, and the big problem people are having with Caod is the time it takes. Not saying the arena isn't great, an open area like that is just what we need for some things, but it is hard to use. |

It all depends how much terrain you want to cram on the stage because you still need a decent amount of room to move your players around. It doesnt really take long to set up though especially when CAOD still works with the grid, when it comes to terrain you dont need it exact, just enough to still move your players. Doing it dynamically with plots and stuff would be a nightmare to even attempt to do in flash. But to everyone try it out and dont be put off with the added time to setup, because its really not that much, and the experience of a good CAOD game will be worth it. |

Not much for one player, but its when two players, and perhaps one umpire as well, are trying to coordinate the set-up so they know where they can stand and not. Not at all impossible of course. It would not actually need to be dynamic, as I said all it would need is a function to show the coordinates of all items, so you can copy whats there and send it to the other player and he can upload it. Of course, I don't know flash so I don't really know how hard it is to pick out the coordinates from it, so I can't say if its easy or hard to do. |

It wouldn't really be that hard. For things that take up area (such as forext) just state two corners that are opposite eachother. For example. Posted Image (click for larger picture) This would be from one of two answers: G3-L9 or G9-L3 |

-_- I am such a tool. Never thought of that simple idea :P It's a bit of work, expecialy if you are rezing things, and you need to specify where in the square the point should be since its a big difference if its in the top or bottom for example, but yeah, it's a good method. Although a save/load function would still be great if there was ever time to make one. |

I could put that into the FAQ. The co-ordinates that are entered for the forest are included in the forest. |
