hi all well i've hit a snag there's a 3000 point event up at HQ in August and i'm planning to go to it, all sounds fine so far except for 2 problems 1) i dont have a 3k army 2) i dont know whether to go totally dedicated to Tzeentch or take undivded oh and is it a good idea to place a Chaos lord on a Dragon?? mostly i'm looking for advice on the pro's and cons of a pure Tzeentch force compared to an undivided one thanks Cadain |

I'll try and help you as good as I can. I haven't played with a Tzeentch army before, but I usually have an Undivided force. I would take an Undivided force, mostly because they are normally cheaper than the other marked units in your army. And the ability to re-roll psychology tests are really something that can help you a lot. Makes Helm of Many Eyes amazing, especially if it has been added with a Great Weapon. Also you won't be as easily effected by panic like you will when you play a Tzeentch army. That seems to be the tough part of Tzeentch, they aren't as hard as all the other Gods when it comes to normal regiments. While the other gods or Undivided provide you with a nice protection against psychology, Tzeentch only adds power dices to your army. But while you are open to panic and other kinds of psychology you do get some pretty mean heroes and lords among your forces that surely can fire a lot of magic at your opponent. But don't forget flyers like Screamers which are very good and tough as well. Also, there is at least one magic and one banner with Tzeentch that provide a unit with a ward save so that is pretty good. But a Tzeentch army will also be very expensive due to the heroes... I myself would prefer to have an Undivided-Tzeentch army if I were to have Tzeentch influence on my army. You can always give a Chariot the Mark of Tzeentch and that way gain easy power dices and still have the powerful and resistent forces of Undivided. As for a Dragon in a force, I've seen a HE dragon in action and those things are monsters. So I wouldn't doubt a Chaos Dragon is a monster either. Besides, if you play Tzeentch, you can always give the Lord on the dragon the Golden Eye of Tzeentch and Staff of Change if you like. |

I'd have to agree with Valtiel about going for an Undivided Army and maybe a splash of Tzeentch...but at 3,000pts you truly can mix and match all the Marks! A Chaos Lord mounted on a Chaos Dragon is a terrible sight to see...but in game terms it dosen't always work out this way...in 3,000pt games, there are going to be a lot of Armies that Shoot HEAVILY...6 High Elf Bolt Throwers...6 Great Cannons and 2 Mortars w/2 Volley Guns...let's not discuss the Skaven... I think you'd be better suited to put your general either on foot in a unit of Chosen Warriors of Chaos, or on Barded Chaos Steed in with some Chosen Knights...protect him! And look into takind different Marks, not just Tzeentch... |

Undivided is better than Tzentch if just going for pure power... |
