Greetings my COTEC brethren, I'm sure most of you are all aware that this summer's campaign will be a Warhammer one entitled the Nemesis Crown. Details of the campaign can be found on Warseer. So I was wondering, are we, as in COTEC, going to be doing anything for this campaign? I hope so. It won't feel like summer without staring at maps and mass discussion on tactics and strategy, not to mention the intrigue of spying and espionage that comes with summer campaigns and falling out with our allies. I think the booklet for the campaign is out in next month's White Dwarf for the UK and I think the US. So maybe we'll start our good ol' summer campaign preperations then? Apologies if a thread like this already exists. I did a search for Nemesis Crown and nothing came up. |

No such thread as far as I know. Is there any information on what kind of campaign it will be? Will it be like SoC or like Lustria? |

I think it'll be like Medusa V last year. Lots of armies are looking for this thing called the Nemesis Crown, which was forged by the Dwarfs (Alarik the Mad I think) out of Warpstone. Now it's lost somewhere in the Empire and most armies are going off to look for it. I haven't got a clue how the mechanics might work as I didn't follow Medusa V. |

Da Warpath has a good head up on whats going on, although it's mainly orcy discussion they do have a copy of the map (its in german) but it shows the regions and what countries are fighting for them. That's a link to their forum for the nemesis crown. I'm really excited for this and hope my chaos army is done in time. |

I didn't actually play any of the games for Medusa V, but I'm pretty sure that the mechanics were similar to SoC in essence of logging games online, but each race had 'objectives' that they were trying to accomplish. How are they going to include armies such as lizardmen and TK? TK in brettonia doesn't exactly make sense to me... Maybe we'll get to see some nice new minis! |

I went with a buddy of mine to do the battle brothers thing at the local GW, and I ended up getting a map of kislev I'm not too sure if it has anything to do with nemisis crown, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out more. Also if anyone's interested in the battle brothers thing (i'm not sure if it's canadian only or what) it's bring a bud play a game, paint if you want (they give you a mini to paint) and you get a bag full of 'swag' which consists of an old white dwarf a 40k mini a fantasy mini and we also got the 2001 limited edition frodo/gandalf. So for my bag I got a chaos marine a dwarf gandolf/frodo and a space marine (since i was the friend that was being introduced to the hobby ^_^ ). But I shall try to figure out what the map is of then let you guys know! |

Got this from the small booklet in the white dwarf, the lizzies will try and stop the young races because they think they can't handle (read destroy) such a powerfull item and Tomb Kings same as always... revenge for evrything there has been stolen, and now that most of the troops around brettonia and the empire are looking for the crown, the moment has come to take back that was stolen from them. And the map is Drakwald forest mainly. |

It comes with WD329, atleast here in belguim it does ;). i'm holding it right now and the actual place where the crown was hidden is in The lost mines of Khrazi Drudd in the northern part of the howling hills. Its not just Drakwald forest but the entire Great forest,Barren hills and The howling hills. Morghur gets named a few times but no special character of mortal chaos though <_< |

Too bad I didn't bother to renew my WD subscription...I haven't been following Nemesis at all. ;) If it is like SoC/Medusa, COTEC should most certainly be involved. I suppose Chaos takes part in this, so we'd need to gather all of the Faithful... |

On the warpath they are already having huge discussions about what they want to accomplish, and they are going to have people write up some reports that follow a similar story to have a larger impact on the campaign. |

I haven't bought a White Dwarf in ages, so IIRC the new one comes out the Friday before the next month. So it should be out today. I'll pop down to WH Smith later on to pick it up and see what the campaign's all about. Thanks for all the info on the booklet Whistler. Don't worry about not following Nemesis Marixis, I don't think there's been anything on it except for this booklet. Like you've all said, Da Warpath's been having lots of discussion on the subject. We should be too, so we'll have to start gathering all the Chaos faithful. I'll talk to Sirlord next time he's online to see if he's interested in joining again. Once we've all got the booklet and we know Chaos' role and goals in this, we can start our own planning. |

Ok I bought White Dwarf today and so now I've got the Nemesis Crown booklet. Our goals seem fairly simple. Get the Nemesis Crown, and make sure no one else gets it. According to the fluff lots of Chaos chieftains, warlords etc. joined together in a Council to discuss the Nemesis Crown. They've joined together in a truce to look for it. Not only that but there's lots of Marauders attacking the coastlines to draw troops away from the Nemesis Crown. It seems we want the Crown for immense powers, and to create another Chaos horde to bring about the End Times. |

Well, it looks like I'll have to resort to the internet for information, as the nearest GW shop is 2 hours away. Plus, I'm not going to pay $6.00 shipping to order WD online... ;) I'll try to keep up, though. With Hour of the Wolf completed over at Asur.org (and it looks like a crushing victory for the Forces of Ruin and Chaos), I'll start having more time for COTEC. Damn that 'Chaos High Command' nonsense... |
