Good luck with that. They've already allied themselves. With the O&G.

Err...thanks for the info. Didn't know that. Odd, considering that the CD keep Greenskins as slaves, but whatever.

What about the Druchii? I don't have the booklet yet, so I don't know how engaged they are, but I imagine they'll be a natural ally?

Motivation - desire for powerful a magic item
Intent - Find item and maybe conquer the world
SitRep - Know about item, are not in a position to actively challenge for it, but can exploit the situation by raiding the areas left unguarded / sparcely guarded by those searching...and this allows them forces in the area in case an opportunity opens up to get the item

In other words, the Druchii aren't too involved in the hunt. They'll raid some unguarded areas and take some loot, but unless the Crown falls into one of their Drachau's laps, they're not a major player. Of course, if enough Druchii players get involved, they could make a big impact.

And some selected responses from a Druchii.net Alliance topic:

We can just manipulate chaos to our will, like we alwayz have. They are reliable plus they fight good.

I "LOL" at that. Excuse the chat-speak. ;)

Just this once, I think it would be better to go this one alone. I gave it some thought, and I'm of the opinion that the Druchii reputation and interests would be better served if we don't make any real concrete alliances. I'm still going to personally keep in contact with folks like Hragged, the Flying Beaver, and Lightbringer and their respective communities, but I vote that we make no contracts or anything of the sort.

From Fingol. LB, have you recieved any contact form him about this?

Dark Elves aren't really suited to allying with others. I can see them perhaps manipulating a race from the sidelines, and the Cult of Pleasure shouldn't have too many problems allying themselves with some Slaaneshi Chaos followers, but for the most part, they're the sort of raiders who work alone.

From Eldacar. The general consensus of the Druchii is that they should (for the most part) avoid alliances and 'do it themselves'. If we were able to get a strong, organized Nemesis team & plan up-and-running (with Ambassadors), we might convinve the Druchii to at least sign a 'no agression' pact. At this point, I can't see that happening.

While we're on that subject, we really do need to get our stuff going. Time is running out. If we want Chaos (and the Chamber) to have an impact in Nemesis, we need to start laying out groundwork for fluff (in progress), organization (nada), and possible alliances (in progress...sort of).

Nope, nothing. I have decided not to get involved with Nemesis Crown at all, I really won't have time for it (but feel free to use or abuse the fluff idea I had if you feel like it). So who should I redirect him to if he contacts me? :P

One thing you might want to do is to see if the Beast already have some organization up and running and try to work with them.

Are the hordes (+daemons?) and beasts going to be 2 different fractions? Because you know...even though we share units and all, beasts are totally different from mortals fluffwise.

Beasts havenīt come much further than us, right now theyīre learning about how many from their forum which will participate in the campaign (perhaps I should start a poll on this forum about it as well?) & where they will participate, because apparently it will matter where you live IRL in this campaign.

I did learn one thing though, apparently our smaller brothers in arms, the Chaos Dwarfs, have already allied themselves w. the Greenskins...

Yeah, but if Cotec, Herdstone, and Daemonic Legion combine forces we can amass a fair fighting force I suppose......

Ah well, Chaos does best when it counts on reliable allies.... aka itself. ^_^

Admittedly I don't have the booklet and so probably won't be joining in myself......

I'm seriously tempted but this is my first campaign I'd be in actively. So I suppose that if someone makes a plan I can follow...but I surely can't be the brain behind the operation. :)

The Nemesis Crown website opens tomorrow. Hopefully it'll explain things like the campaign's mechanics. That should make planning a much easier affair for us. From reading various forums it seems that the campaign is based on regions, with each country battling in a specific forum. So the most important thing to do now, I reckon, is to sort out which country everyone's from so we know where our strength lies.

If no one objects I'll ask the Vampires over at Blood Keep if they'd like to ally with us. Lots of them are pretty annoyed that GW has said that Mannfred's dead, so perhaps we can all join together to recognise that Mannfred's still alive by mentioning him in our fluff. And maybe getting Crom to go around Sylvania in his invasion? To do that, we could mention in our fluff that Crom is moving? I hope that all makes sense.

There, just posted on the Blood Keep. Now let's wait and see as to what they say. Hopefully they'll accept.

Now, fluff. I think for maximum impact on the fluff the best thing to do is to keep it simple and realistic (as realistic as you can get in a fantasy world (:P). I'm still thinking through for some fluff, but here's just some things that's in my head at the moment.

Archaon's weak and defeated, so many Chaos Lords abandon him. Instead they flock to the banner of the undefeated Conqueror, Vardek Crom. His army is still intact and ready to lay waste to the Empire by invading from the East. However many Chaos warbands can't actually reach his army, so instead they decide to take advantage of the fact that the Old World's armies are hunting for the Nemesis Crown. With the armies of the Empire distracted, the forces of Chaos decide to rape, pillage and burn all the Imperial villages they can find to try to distabilise the Empire further ready for Crom to strike.

Not sure if that is the right direction, because the booklet seems to indicate that either the SoC never happened, or that this is before SoC.

You are right, it doesn't indicate if SoC has happened or anything.

Like I said, it was just some ideas that was circling around in my mind. Gah I wish GW would say whether or not Nemesis is before or after SoC. It would make fluff writing easier. Maybe we'll find out tomorrow when the site opens.

Damn GW. They can never make anything easy, can they? ;)

As for the possible Vampire alliance, I'm all for it. The Dwarves are attempting (poorly) to forge a second 'Conclave of Light' (if you played SoC, you'll know) out of Dawi, Brets, High Elves, and Empire. This has the Orcs & Goblins rightly concerned (no one wants 4 factions versus 1 - 2 if you count the CD - ), so much that Grimview Grot offered to try to persuade COTEC to ally with them. At least, that's the general idea I'm getting from Da-Warpath.
Anyways, go right ahead with the Vampire alliance Leth. The more factions we can get to not fight us, the better we'll do.

Ah yes, the ol' CoLA (Conclave of the Light Alliance). It just wouldn't be a summer campaign without them as our true foes :). Does anyone remember during SoC when someone mentioned we oughta call ourselves the PEPSI (The People and Entities Promoting Slaughter and Incineration) ??
