Greetings one and all, I'm new here so be nice :) I too am getting really interested in the upcoming Nemesis campaign. Though I usually post over at Warseer, I also wanted to find another forum from which we could do stuff for the Nemesis campaign. And this seems to be the biggest Chaos forum there is. I've already had some ideas for plot hooks in the Nemesis campaign. My initial background material can be seen here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84882 And people interested in furthering this cause should go here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84884 This being the signup thread for anyone interested in joining the Legion of Oblivion, an alliance of Chaos Warbands operating during this campaign. The background for the Four Curses of Chaos has already been submitted to the UK campaign narrators for this year, via the GCN. They seem to be quite interested in the material I've given them. I could type out the background I have planned here, but given as I've already posted the link to it above I guess that would be kind of pointless. Suffice to say, it ultimately involves the summonation of a Daemon King powerful enough to assist in most if not all the goals that various Chaos players should want out of this campaign, so it's in the interests of all Chaos players to make it happen. If you have any comments about this storyline idea, please post them here or on Warseer, I would love to know what people think of the ideas I have developed so far. |

Just joined up. Your bidding my master...... Interesting background, but will GW buy into something that will distract from the crown....and is that really in our best interests? |

There is a plan to tie the search for the Four Curses back into the main Nemesis Crown narrative towards the end of the campaign, but I don't want to mention it yet because it's not fully formulated (and it might never happen if we're not successful in our games!). Glad you liked the background, you're the first guy I've had any feedback from so far (other than GW themselves). I hope others over here are willing to join the Legion of Oblivion as well. |

Well Im glad im some use..... If you want it, a few months back, a myself and a founder of the Speartip Alliance (from 40k) set up a secure forum for discussions and Chaoic planning, plus it can be scrapped once the campaigns over.....We were going to do as you seem to have done but im afraid we lost interest.... The sites yours if you want to use it. http://z6.invisionfree.com/The_Enclave/index.php?act=idx Just need to confirm the inner council pass word though. |

I might join up, I'm unsure. I'm uncertain because I've next to no clue what this really is. From what little I've gathered, I'm supposed to write and post some sort of battle reports from the fights I fight, and in them mention worldwide happenings? Is is some sort of writing contest in the end? Total newbie. Who doesn't get it. |

Lol Skyldig, no it's not a writing contest. I'll try to explain. Past experience (well, mine anyway) has shown that worldwide campaigns are far more enjoyable if the players involved get stuck in as a community working towards some fan-created goal. That is the purpose of a campaign (of any sort) over oridnary battles - your games have a role in determining an ongoing story. The Legion of Oblivion is my attempt at doing this, and the Four Curses of Chaos plotline is my plan of a narrative objective. If players are interested in taking a role in developing a potentially successful narrative, then I'd reccomend them to join in, and then mention what their battle was geared towards during their battle reports. It isn't a writing contest because I would actively encourage people to make reference to our plotline even if they got thrashed in their games. In other words, this won't help us win the campaign, but it will make it more enjoyable. When I created the Council of Eldanesh last year during Medusa, I can honestly say that getting my character and his goals mentioned several times in GW's official background was the highpoint of the campaign. I just want to try and replicate some of that fun this year. |

I.....still don't get it. "reference to out plot line" what? Does this plot line change sometime? when? how? I fail to grasp the importance of the other armies forums. So we're gonna write in our reports "the wood elves, who had begun to take control of this area, lined up before our army.."? Or is it something more? Like? We work mainly with the COTEC forumists that has pledged themselves to this, AND that are in our area only, yes? I think you're missing to tell me the obvious stuff, because they're so "obvious" to you. -_- |

It doesn't help. All I want to know is: 1.) what is an online campaign? 2.) How do you do it with other people? (the campaign!!) |

An online warhammer campaign is traditionaly a game anyone who playes warhammer can register their battles to affect the outcome of a larger story and the online map. You play games like normal with your friends, and then via some homepage you report the results of them to the campaign. If you won, your race gets a few points in the campaign, and in the end the race with most points wins. Then there can be various degrees of complexity on top of that. |

And what about these "fluff" things? Coordination in the fluff with other websites.. Are we supposed to write battlereports on the battles we fight, or does GW do this on their website, or how does that work? Surely it can't just be a hunting for point contest. |

Well during these campaigns players often write stories for their armies, describing their exploits during the campaign. These are often battlereports, but written in a story format. Right, fluff co-ordination is fairly simple. When we right our little stories we often make reference to our fluff goals. For example say in Nemesis Crown we want to get ready to besiege Middenheim again. So in our stories we mention masses of Chaos armies gathering around Middenheim, taking out nearby villages and towns. And you write about your own army doing something similar to help get ready to take Middenheim. Or maybe we want to aid Crom. So we mention some armies moving east to Crom, and your own army doing something related. If everyone mentions these goals then GW should take notice and mention them in their own Official Campaign Background. I hope that clears things up :). |

Dumb question but, would we send our battle report to GW, or post it so it can be combined with other peoples stuff and sent in? |

No, you don't send anything to GW other than the outcome of your battle. You just go to the War Room (when it's open) and tick the boxes/options or whatever. For the battlereports you just go to the Nemesis Crown forums on the Nemesis Crown website and post your battle report there. GW tends to read 'em and take note of the fluff if they all follow the same thing. Lol I feel like a campaign veteran here, explaining the way things are done :P. |

Hey, someone has to do it. :P Actually, it's great to see all of these new people getting interested in online campaigns. The more the merrier, I say!
So, there will be Nemesis Crown forums? Sounds good if it's true, but I've looked through the U.S. and U.K. sites and haven't seen a word about such a thing. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places...it's happened before. |
