Awesome idea, really well done! Seems very balanced, i would have thought some of the chars would have had a bit better ws, also the blessing of Zeus is a little expensive. Again, great work :D |

Great Idea!! I have been doing the same thing with a Norse armt list (note not chaos) and a Celtic Army list ( aka Albion) At the moment i am using the Hordes of chaos list for a counts as Norse and beasts of chaos as Celts I think the ambush and herd rules represent disorganised celtic barbarians very well. Norse warriors=Marauders Houskarls (elite warriors)= Chaos warriors Frost Giant= Chaos Giant Ice Trolls= Chaos Trolls Werewolves=Spawn Wolves=Chaos Hounds Celts chariots=Bestigor chariots warp spasim warrior= spawn |

That is a VERY well-developed list! I really like all of the different units- but how would you convert them. Post some pics if you ever get around to making any of the units |

Well I havent made the models yet, but I do have instructions on converting them. Which I will post when I have done instructions for all units. I am thinking of replacing the herd leader(satyr hero) with a centaur hero, do you(anyone) think this is a good idea? |

Well it depends, whichever is easier to convert would be my vote. I guess using BoC models would be pretty simple for both. Actually I thought of a better idea! Why not have a "herd leader" be a base model of a satyr, and can be upgraded to a centaur for +X points? It would be the exact same as mounting another hero, since I assume that all is changing between the satyr and the centaur would be movement values. |

Well its time to post how to construct some of the models for the army. Hoplite parts required: Chaos Maruders, Slannesh mounted lord head, Large round shields,High elf ellyrian spear. How to build: Construct the maruder body/legs and shield arm (shave off any chaos symbols), shave the slannesh symbol of the lord head and glue that to the maruder (some greenstuff may be required). Glue the large shield on (preferably quite close to the body so that its easier to rank up), and finally stick the elf spear onto the right side of the body. Peltasts parts required: Chaos maruders, small round shields, mounted squire arm. How to build: Construct the maruder body/legs and shield arm (shave off all chaos symbols). Glue on the maruder heads with beards and no helmets on (you can get spare ones from making hoplites). Stick the squire arm on so that the arm points vertically, cut the pointed end of the spear off and stick it on the bottom of the spear (it now looks like he is throwing it). Glue the small shields on, also glue on the capes and skins from the maruder sets to thier backs (get some spare ons from making hoplites). Hippikon parts required: Mounted chaos maruder body, mounted chaos maruder spears, armoured horse/empire warhorse, small round shield/large round shield, slannesh mounted lord head. How to build: Cut the maruders head off, attach the maruder arm to its body and the slannesh head to the neck (shave off the slannesh symbol). Glue the appropriete shield onto the shield arm (small shield if your hippikon are equiped with shields, large shields if your hippikon are equpied with heavy shields). Glue the maruder to the approprite horse (empire horse is your hippikon dont have barding, armoured warhorse if your hippikon are equiped with barding). Centaur parts required: Armoured warhorse, slannesh mounted lord head, Horse archer body1,2 How to build: Cut the horse archers head off, and glue the slannesh head on (cut the symbol off). Glue the horse archer body straight to the neck of the armoured horse (some green stuff may be required). Cyclops parts required: Ogre bulls (or ironguts if you need great weapons), chaos ogre head 3. How to build: Build the ogre body with the equipment you desire, dont glue the head on. Remove all ogre symbols from the body. Glue the chaos ogre head onto the neck. Pegasus (mounted or unmounted) parts required: Lucrezzia's Horse Head, Empire horse, bretonnian pegasus wings. How to build: Glue the head on the neck and the wings on the side of the body. Ballista parts required: Dwarf bolt thrower, siege wheels, parts for 3 hoplites. How to build: Build the bolt thrower and attach the wheels to the sides of it. Build the hoplites normally. Behemoth chariot parts required: Ogre Rhinox body, Tomp kings chariot spruce, Winged nightmare head, Parts for 2 hoplites, a spare standard pole, chariot base. How to build: Build the chariot and shave off all tomb kings symbols, but the yoke of the chariot must be on the far left (or right), glue the standar pole on the other side. Shave the rhinox body so it has no fur, glue the winged nightmare head to the rhinox neck (some green stuff may be required). Glue the behemoth to the front of the chariot base, the chariot gets glued to the back with the 2 yokes holding onto the behemoths flanks. Build the 2 hoplites and mount them on the chariot. Shade parts required: Vampire counts wraith body, Slannesh mounted lord head, large round shield, any blank sword. How to build: Cut the wraiths head and right hand off. Glue the slannesh lord head on (shave the slannesh symbol off), glue the round shield to the left hand and the sword hand to where the right hand used to be. Colossus parts required: Giant, large flying base. How to build: Build the giant with nothing in his right hand, a bearded head and 5 toed feet. Glue the flying base to his right hand like a shield. When painting him make sure he is bronze and rusted. Thats all for now folks. If anyone wants to they can print off the army list and battle people at their local hobby centre (opponents consent off course), and only when all the units construction guides are up (otherwise your unit choices are a bit restricted). If anyone builds any of these models I would love to see pictures of them. |

Instead of using the mounted slaanesh lord's head for everything could you not use Eldar Dire Avenger? or even (needs a bit more thought) Dark Eldar Warrior heads some have plumes. Just for a bit of variety, I dont know how easy it would be but it would give you a bit more variety through the army. |

If i got the dire avengers heads I would end up with thousands of headless elder and an empty wallet, you cannot order just the heads unfortunatly. The plumes could just be painted differently to show different units anyway. |
