Hey folks. We have been recieving a number of questions about the Animosity 2: Sands of War Campaign. So we have writen up a basic Q&A. Feel free to ask anyother questions that come to mind and stop by the forums to see whats going on http://z3.invisionfree.com/Animosity2/index.php?act=idx. We are running a number of contests in the run up to the campaign launch where the contest winners gain an advantage for their faction in the coming war.

Offical campaign registration can be found here. http://www.freewebs.com/animosity2campaign/index.htm

Animosity 2: Sands of War Question and Answer

Q: What is Animosity 2: Sands of War?

A: Animosity 2: Sands of War is an online Warhammer campaign brought to you by da-warpath.com

A: What is the campaign about?

Q: Civil War has gripped the Kingdom of Araby and the armies of the Warhammer world are descending on Araby to turn the chaos to their advantage.

Q: How Long will it run for?

A: It will begin on October 31 and End December 16 with the winner announced on December 19

Q: How do I Play?

A: You register on the website and forums and join ANY of the 6 factions then you play games of your favourite Warhammer game system (Warhammer Fantasy, Warbands, Border Patrol, Skirmish, Mordheim, Man O War, Warmaster, Blood Bowl we really don't care) and report your victories and help your faction advance across Araby

Q: What are the 6 factions?

A: The 6 factions are Waaagh Gazhkull under the command of Warlord Ghazak Gazhkull, Waaagh Snagafang under the command of Warlord Snagafang, The Arabian Reclaimation Pact under command of Sir Beovald of Brettonian, The Covenant of Shadows under Sabbad, The Brotheren of the Sea under Warboss Kurgan and The Legions of Nehekhara under Aaron Mon

Q: How often will campaign information be updated?

A: The campaign map will hopefully (depending if we can get the software working) be updated in real-time and there will be weekly Fluff updates which will advance the story line and include players achievements.

Q: What’s makes this campaign different from any other online campaign that I’ve played in?

A: Not only is this campaign a character driven map campaign which allows factions and players to conquer territories but there are several feature which have not been attempted in an online campaign of this size.

Q: How will players conquer territories?

A: All of the targetable locations on the map will be divided into 3 types: Small, Medium and Large locations. After a faction post a certain number of points at these sites the location will fall under the control of the faction and victory points will be awarded. Of course, the smaller sites will be be easier to capture but will have less rewards while the large sites will require a great effort to capture but the conquering faction will be greatly rewarded. So factions will be forced to choose whether to try and conquer many smaller sites or a few large sites.

Q: What are Victory Points?

A: Each site on the map will be assigned a victory point value based on its size and difficulty to capture. After a site is taken the conquering faction is awarded the victory point which can be used 2 ways. First, victory points will be used to determine the overall winner of the campaign. The faction which accumulates the most points at the end of the campaign wins. The second use for victory points is to fund secret projects.

Q: What are the Special Features?

A: There are three major Special Features which are being implement in this campaign are Secret Projects, a Water Dynamic and Micro-updates.

Q: What are Secret Projects?

A: Unlike in other online campaigns where players and factions often create secret projects in their backrground and campaign Fluff but they have no in game effect. In this campaign factions will be allowed to create or select secret projects and propose them to the Gamesmasters. After being assigned a Victory Point cost these projects will then have an effect on the campaign mechanics in the various battlefields. In other words spending a few VP early on in the campaign could give you an advantage later on. Stay tuned for more detailed on the projects

Q: What is the Water Dynamic?

A: Water is an important resource in the desert of Araby and it is almost worth its weight in gold. Factions will have to manage the water resources that they control in order to maximize the effectiveness of their armies in the field. Water will be capture by conquering sites on the map or it can be purchased with VP.

Q: What are Micro-updates?

A: Although weekly fluff update will be the primary method of moving the storyline of the war in Araby forward, sometimes events will happen at times which the main update will not be able to appropriately describe the event. This is where the micro-updates come into play. These short updates could be as short as a sentence or as long as a few paragraphs and will take place on no particular schedule. They will often be triggered by faction’s actions whether it is the completion of a secret project, a battlefield falling, a faction running out of water or particularly couragous effort by players.
