Hey all, Not sure if I have the right forum here, but figured I'd try my hand at posting here and see if I got a response. I'll admit I'm not the most computer savy, but I'm usually able to figure out minor problems such as this. Unfortunately the computer has got the best of me this time around and I need some assistance (Computer 1, Time of Madness 0). When I reply or post a topic I can see the contents of my post immediately after. But if I leave the topic and comeback my post magically vanishes. I can see my name on the right hand side and see that a post is there, but there is no contents. Just wondering if the chaos gods are playing tricks on me, or does everyone have this issue. Maybe there is something wrong with my board settings that I can't figure out. Oh well thanks for listening, look forward to someone pointing me in the right direction. Time of Madness P.S. Glad I found this board, great resource for Chaos! |

I've noticed similiar problems the last couple of days. Often when I view a topic (if it's not the most recent in it's forum) the first post is unreadable, but the replies are. Earlier today I could only see the names of the members in the thread, but none of the posts. Both of these are probably due to the re-vamping of the forum that's currently underway and I have no doubt that our capable admins will have everything in perfect shape given a few days to work on it (now that it's been brought up). P.S. Thanks for the compliment on the site. I'm sure somewhere Bearer, The Dreadlords, and all the admins that have come before them are blushing furiously. :D |

*pretends he has nothing to do with it* Yeah, there is a problem with that (obviously). You know how we now have some COTEC buttons? Well, invisionfree bugged on me when I was adding them. I put the URL for the images (like I did with HoI, which still has the graphics), and then it is supposed to add in the appropriate HTML tags. However, what happened this time, was that some didnt have HTML tags, some had the right html tags, and others had random tags that didnt work. And then something weird happened that I dont know... Bearer said he'd take a look at it last night. So just hang tight and it will all be fine. Brown EDIT: Bearer seems to have fixed the problem of the first topic... but the edit/report thing still isnt working (of course, I can edit without problems since I have another button in between :P) EDITx2: I got the edit thing to work... And I now know how finnicky invisionfree is. Also, the quote thing isnt there apparently... yet another edit: The quote thing is only not visible to admins for some reason... |

Half the tables I see on the forum are just plain f*cked up. Post boxes are left aligned off the screen all over the place (i.e. so you can't scroll left to see the text), and in the forum menus, a whole bunch of data is in the wrong box entirely, i.e. the posters name is in the topic names's box. for the record I'm using the firefox version 2.0.0.6 on XP. |

I have requested that invision simply refresh the forum skins and CSS because I think to actually discover these kinds of problems are far too tedious. When I get the new domain I will upload the skins and take it from there. Its the solution with the least work. I like those kind of answers. |

Bearer...you should let brown figure out how to make the various changes by himself if he's gonna be doing the day to day maintenance, so he knows where to look to fix things in the future. And no cookies for him until thats done :D |

Default IF skins ftw! @ Decker: though I agree with what you say in principle, sometimes the situation dictates that an overhaul is better for everyone. from what I could see, the CSS was fundementally messed up, and even though it would be gret for the admin to get some 'educational tinkering' going, it kinda sucks for all the other members who have to put up with messed tables and buttons which don't work. Just my 2 cents ;) P.S hah! they kept the custom smileys! w00! |

Well, the tinkering I was talking about would be taken at a pace he could track his changes at. Once you have the colours (I'm guessing Bearer has kept track of these somewhere) and are reading an invision guide, changing only that is about as risk free as any admin task. Once the colours are switched, he could move onto the next step at his own pace (and if the colours get put in right, aesthetically, it will look like a chaos forum again, and the other tweaks are mostly 'fun', though tedious). edit: the report button is still in the old skin too :D |

Oh please, can't anybody just at least make it simple black, white and yellow again? No need for flashy images or cool graphics yet, just be gone with this standard skin! It hurts my eyes and feels nothing like the real cotec we all love.. |
