Seen that as well, I am very dissapointed in not having any skirmishers or flying units though, will make gun lines very hard to beat, i was hoping for atleast something along those lines, flayerkin could work for example.

Also saw that... hmmm.

I guess I'll just be bummed if there's nothing besides the straight-up bashing units, even given the option for ogres/dragonogres. Either GW is going to disappoint a lot of anxious old HoC players (the ones who actually didn't go the Daemons route) or they still have something hidden up their sleeves.

Now, if they give us the Warriors with straight up WS of 6 and 2A for a cost of 11 points per model (ahem, with Chaos Armor and shields included :P ), then I may decide that's ok and we'll have to devote some time planning how to get them across the field ASAP.

If it stays as we're seeing it so far, going to be some pretty generic lists out there.

Well, no flyers sucks a bit, somehow I've got to get rid of those missile units. And no skirmishers is a pain too, what about those march blockers?

Those warriors are going to need to be nasty and cheap to be useful, the sort of thing where once it gets there that 300pt unit will tear through the army with only half the unit left, and that's not the hardest unit sort of thing.

Hrm as people have stated before, no flyers or skirmishers does sound a bit odd, given the current state of the game. However, who's to say we won't have something to counter/get around it such as ward save v. missle/magic missle banners or something along that line. Also giving Chaos back some strong magic will help with gunlines. And as stated before, there is always the possibility that we are going to be so insane in close combat that even a half strength unit of warriors will be able to tear through opponents battle lines.

I guess we shall have to wait and see.

I'm glad we'll keep them and if Chaos Trolls along with Ogres and Dragon Ogres also get re-roll to psych... yeah! But nevertheless I don't think these units will save the army. If we get nothing but Close Combat maniacs with no variety at all I don't see any future for our army sadly.

interesting, had a read of that, makes me laugh after people on herdstone refusing to even entertain the idea :) Your right they certainly wont save the army however that is certainly a nice selection of extra stuff, im hoping that spawn end up as core like hounds :)

The no fliers thing sounds very odd but perhaps having fliers makes mortals to unbalanced, it could well be that we end up with the units of warriors that only need 5 men to win combat!

For anyone who hasn't been following the rumours on warseer we also have it confirmed:

Chosen are infantry only, there are no mounted chosen.
Marauder horsemen have ranged weapons in the shape of throwing axes and javelins
shaggoth included, as well as special shaggoth character
special character who lets you take a "big guys" army, much like a doombull in BoC I think "lord of the monstrous horde"
Eye of the Gods table. Can be rolled on during game for successful challenges, and also for another reason The metal chosen that Harry refers to above roll on it prior to start of game.

Think that's about it. Sounds to me like all warriors and knights will get 2 attacks? If knights aren't getting nerfed then they'll need 2A if there's no chosen upgrade for them - would then make no sense for warriors to have only 1 I reckon. :rock:

To stand a chance chaos need basic 2A warriors at lowish cost, we can't protect them with shooting so it ends up being cheap killer warriors or some way to get rid of missile units (ie. flyers and skirmishers)

that lord of monsters thing may well be the shaggoth, makes alot sense if you ask me, the eye of the gods sounds very interesting, its just a step back to chaos in 5th ed.

All we now need is a skirmishing "mutant" unit and generic flying daemon and teh split was totally pointless.


I would hope that warriors get two attacks and chaos armour as standard, they really need a huge boost.

Well I for one want some niffty magic back. That crap about MoT and generic lores made this Chaos Lord cry. Im not following the warseer rumours, is there any info about getting my beloved Chaos Magic back? :angry:

P.S. Sweet, my Shaggoth wasn't a waste of money

Hey, if Spawns did become core, would we even be in that dire need of a skirmish unit? Maybe if Spawns will end up in like skirmish groups that would be nice. I doubt the groups/regiments thing though but if Spawns became core (but not counting towards the min. core units you have to take) then I think we at least could stop some things.

And Iname, something tells me we'll get the lores in the Daemon book. Seems pretty reasonable to me that all Chaos wizards would have the same magic and that ASF Slaanesh spell would do wonders with Warriors. So would the nice Tzeentch and Nurgle lore. :D

I do start to think if we get a skirmish unit or something like that it will probably look a lot like Beast Herds... which makes me wonder why they split up the books at all.

Anyway we shall see how it turns out. I'm starting to get excited and the Eye of the Gods table sounds unique, interesting and a little innovative (yeah I know it's been before, I was never there though :P ).

I like the daemon lore of slaanesh especially, which really helps,perhaps my army won't be skimping on magic...

core spawn would be great, just stick them roundabouts where marchblockers'll skulk about and send em' off in that direction. The only problem is spawn can't be changed much 'cause they're in the beast book

And I really want to know what this eye of the gods thing entails
