As some of you may know, GW had a bit of a tricky year last year in regards to financial loss. However, as of June 1st GW are back in profit!

As you can read, the profit generated this year still doesn't come near to equalling out the major loss of last year - but it's all good news nonetheless.

Yes, very good news, means no chance of this game we all love to be discontinued in atleast a few more years.

Very good.

"The games retailer is not recommending a dividend payment in 2008/09, and said it will instead use the cash to continue its cost reduction programme, which has included the closure of 18 loss-making Hobby centres."

That's actually the bummer of the story... but I guess to be a smart business you have to cut losses in some places.

I would think with as much interest in some of the newer armies, and of course with WoC coming soon, that they will probably have an excellent follow-up quarter.

Has anyone ever looked at GW as a whole when they introduced the LotR models and game system (and since)? I havn't but have always been curious as to what that did for them.

they got a big jump in profits with lord of the rings, I didn't realise they were making definite losses though, I though it was just a reduction in profits.

Grrrreat, my store's struggling to meet its targets, and the other gaming places need you to be 16+
