Hey, I recently discovered a french magazine that's widely distributed around here and that's pretty interesting (well; more so than WD) It actually has some nice articles, still features stuff like mordheim, has battle reports and most important of all, everything featured in it is from gamerz :D (no 'eavy metal stuff, as it's not from GW itself). It's called Ravage and it features other games too (GW, RACKHAM, Alkemist, WoW,...) Do you guys know of more WH featuring magazines to serve as an alternative to WD? because as we all know, it's become pretty useless recently and just plain painfull to the eyes. <_< |

Hard one, I think there are some more online magazines out there. And if you want more battle reports and nice armies I'm afraid that searching the web will be your best friend. I'm happy to hear that there are more specialist games magazines out there! |

I tried an online mag before and it was ridiculous. There was an article in it about magic, and it implied that one was more likely to roll two 1's than two 6's on two dice. How stupid. |

There are several good e-mags out there like DWPQ and the one from the Underempire, but it's just not the same as a real magazine you can pick up and read interesting articles out of and look at player armies or hobby and gaming tips. They're more like a compilation of interesting stuff allready said on their host site. Mebbe we should start one?! :o  (imagine the power): It doesn't neccesarily have to do with chaos. We could run classic WD articles like "Tale of 4 gamers" (with bacon butties offcourse), battlereports with loads of pictures (I love those), articles on how to handle certain unit types (flyers, artillery,...). Just a general magasine on GW products, any GW products. It might even pull more people to the forum :D |

I myself donīt have the time to make a mag on my own, but if anyone here is willing to do one then feel free to use the COTEC name or the forum to distribute the mag. |

Well I like the idea, but I would still like to be the focus on (Warriors of) Chaos else it wouldn't really fit the forum imho. I think it would be great if we all posted our project armies with some progress photo's and offcourse battlereports so we can share our knowledge. I would love to help, but I'm afraid my cam result wouldn't be the best. Because the only thing I can thake pictures with is my phone. |

That sounds awesome, but where would we (and by we I mean you) find someone who could do a job that wouldn't be shameful. I like the idea of it being a general GW magazine, but with strong War Hammer (Particularly WoC) overtones. |

Yeah, there are some issues there, first of all, I do Not know how I make a mag (adobe prolly? but I can't work with that) and secondly I do not have a cam atm, so for picture contributes that will be annoying also... Then there is the issue with on what the focus should be; I like WoC or any chaos offcourse, they are my little babies, but sometimes it gives a refreshing tone just to read an article about some guys cool empire army, or to read a battlereport between WE and orcs,...you know? I think we should start a new topic about this, to discuss if there are any people interested in cooperating and if so, how we are going to manage this. I shall do that tonight because I have to go to school right now. Cya |

I have some spare time between lessons but I can think of some great articles all over around the world. The cam issue is a small problem imho. Because well, most of us do know someone with a cam. Give them some sweets and most of them will lend you that. Because most of us will have some spare time in December etc. I would first of like to know who are intrested in a one of (maby more later, we'll just have to see how a single magazine would work out) I also would like to know how many of the blog guys (I'll post the names later) would be kind enough for sharing their experience, painting techniques and battle advice (the last thing almost everyone can give so be sure to post it!) But again we will probably need something like 8-10 guys who are intrested and are willing to write a story with about 400 words. I'm in. But if there are any people more maby we should PM some guys. The Slaanesh,Nurgle,Tzeentch(in metal colour) and Red Knight I've seen yet look fantastic. Cheers, |

There actually was an attempt to make a COTEC web-mag a while back... I think it was called Chaos Forge, or something... but yeah, it never happened. Not that I'm saying its a bad idea! not at all, just make sure that you have the means to continue before you start, like regular contributers etc. As to the 'how' though, well it depends on what you want to do... If you want it to be a pdf file (as most people do, and is probably advisable), then you'll need Adobe Acrobat to compile and arrange all your images and text into the one document. If you want might thoughts on what it should consist of, then I would suggest Chaos generally, (so not just WoC), but should be Chaos exclusively. People tend to respond better to something specific if you lack the mean to make it really good from the word go. I'm afraid I can't really help you any more then offer advise, though, as I've got a lot on my plate right now. |

No problem, even a small article will help in a Chaos magazine. I agree that the focus should be more on Chaos rather then WoC. Also lots of people seem to play DoC so we could have some nice articles. Again, I would like to know who's intrested and whos not. Acolite thanks for the advice! |
