Nemesis Crown? is that something like the albion campaign a couple of years back? what's the story behind it?

It always amazed me that I actually had the strength of will to just post on forums for hours and hours everyday! These days I just scan COTEC for any replies tom topics I've started and then wander off :P .

What I want to know is: what ever happened to RooieKazooie? He was a legend back in the day, but I just haven't seen him around since LoA tanked. Well, I did see him doing something math-y on the GW forums during the official LoTR campaign a little while back, but walked away slowly and quietly (math scares me  )

@ Angra: your asking the guy who has do idea, mate :D . All I know is that it was smaller scale and less freeform then SoC. Basically I think that GW decided what would happen at the end, and all the players did was make up what happened in the middle... resulting in some whacky fluff to try and tie everything together, no doubt :P

do you guys know if there ever will be a new massiv campaign like SoC or the Armageddon 3 (or something)...? because I quite liked it, its nicer to participate in then those lame campaign book you gotta play on yer own...although I do not like that GW always denies Evil's victory even if evil players do win a campaign...

Very much doubt it. GW learnt from SoC that mega campaigns don't really work (though they are incredibly fun for those of us who just want a bit of fun).
The problem is that they can't leave the campaign to end however it will, as they need to keep the WH world in a particular status quo, which becomes impossible if either side get more then a 60% advantage.
For example; there was no reason why Chaos was ever beaten back in SoC. Apparently just because they could fully take Middenhiem, they decided "fair cop, lets go home" and everything returned back to the way it was. Which is of course ridiculous.

Also, freeform campaigns open GW up to too much criticism. There was a lot of negative feedback from SoC, especially at the end. For whatever reason, a number of people on both sides become unhappy with things that happened.
So by having a fascist level of control over a small campaign, GW can make sure everything happens exactly as planned, and people don't have a big enough platform to complain from.

Lastly, I'm sure its a money thing. They probably sold less Valtern minis then they hoped or something, so figured that they were spending more on the campaign then they were making back, so decided to scale down.

yes, but it's kinda lame to act in a campaign if there's allready a setup for the ending...what use is your participation then? why do they use the "It's up to you to save or destroy the world" attitude?

I'm really happy it is possible to continue gaming and collecting their miniatures without ever having to go into a store or go on their site...because lately everything about them ticks me

Yeah, I noticed their site has been redesigned to... ah... focus on the store, rather then the articles :P .

Yes! I was so dissapointed when they did that. Its is purely a sales site now, not a hobby site.

I think the accountants really have taken to much control of GW, the new site is useless, GW is really relying far to much on its customers to provide support for fellow customers, im surprised they even left the faq's on the site.

The nemesis crown was a total joke and ending was even worse than the SoC one "well the dwarfs locked it in the vault", i dont even know why GW bother with these things.

I'm thinking lately; Honestly there should at least be SOME gamers still at the top...It is impossible that none of the guys at the top are gamers. They must still have SOME kind of reasoning. I've felt like marching up to Nottingham and bashing some 'eads a lot lately...just to make clear to them they're not going the right way

PS: it's funny how easily topics here get off topic... :P

I think theres a thread already along the lines of going to HQ and killing people, I also recall something about fallout boy to get people angry. Lets not start that again.

Mweh, never really needed the site for anything honestly, appart from eyeballing some stuff.

I don't even care that much that lots of stuff is gone, as long as they keep the FAQ etc. So gamers will have some sort of home where GW will keep us updated on their vague wording. ;) And even from a gamers point of vieuw I understand they will need more stuff to sale, I don't really mind having to play against very young players, only if they will have learned something from the battle etc.

Cheers,

They might have stopped doing WHFB world campaigns because Da Warpath always throws a spanner in the works. It has been 4 years and O&G players still whinge about Grinmgor going "me better then Archaon, but I won't kill him"....What was with that lame ending? GW only chucked it in because the O&G players got the shits with GW and kept attacking Chaos. With Nemesis Crown the samed happened again as the O&Gs came up with all these good ideas which didn't fit in the GW perfect world, ie summoning Mork (or was it Gork) and trying to burn down the Great Forest....then GW counters with something lame like a Slann cuts off all magic to the world...as if that could happen.

4 years....it seems longer when your brother plays O&G
