Hey all,

I'm in need of a rule clarification here. I was at my local store the other day discussing new character combos from our book. Long story short I said something along the lines of "and he would get +1 to his armour for being mounted on the Daemonic Mount too!" to which I was tackled by multiple other gamers saying, "In the BRB, it states that you only get the bonus for regular steeds, monsters and the like don't count!" to which I replied, "but they aren't monsters. Juggers, Daemonic mounts, Steeds of Slaanesh, Discs of Tzeentch are all 1 wound mounts now, so wouldn't their riders benefit?" then I got told, "No, because they aren't on a 25mm by 50mm base!" So, being clever, I then said "Well, under the brass behemoth rule it says that the character receives +3 rather then the usual +1 for being mounted... why would they say 'rather than the usual +1' in that sentence if indeed juggers etc. didn't count as regular cav mounts as far as this rule is concerned?". They still thought I was looking for an unfair advantage.

I let the matter drop, even though I was pretty sure I was right in my thinking. I came home and scanned my Warriors of Chaos book where I found the following evidence that supports my claims:

Under Archaon's description for the Armour of Morkar, it states that he receives a 1+ armour save AND "this includes his bonus for being mounted". Archaon IS mounted on a Damonic mount! Why would he get the bonus if they didn't count as a regular 1 wound mount???

Also, on page 54, it states: Note that Juggernauts of Khorne, Daemonic Mounts, Palanquins of Nurgle and Discs of Tzeentch are cavalry mounts, even though they are not mounted on a 25x50mm base"

So, I was right all along, correct? -_-

Those mounts are all cavalry mounts, the book even specifically states so as you've said. They are all just codswholloping jabronis who are afraid of how bad you will beat them.

Yes, and they all rock honestly.

I'm in love with my frenzied +3 armour juggernaught, who hit's like most armies hero's do.

Cheers,

Thanks, guys! I knew it! :D

On another note about mounts, I noticed that juggers don't have killing blow mentioned... yet in the Daemons book they do have killing blow... Do you think this was an intentional rule change on GW's part?

Dunno, it's a pitty they don't have it. I agree, but we've got Frenzy. Not that bad either ;)

Intentional or not, ours doesnīt have it, so thatīs how we should play it unless a FAQ comes out & changes it (which I doubt).
Besides we have a lot easier to get a better save w. the Jugger w.out using magic items & can actually go down to a negative save w. the Enchanted shield, so I think we have that "bonus" instead (as well as an extra A).

Yeah, that's probably why we didn't get that killing blow rules. We do get an extra S5 attack instead. Kinda fair if you ask me. Well maybe not but at least we get something out of it.

Oh, for sure. I'd sooner take an extra attack on it than killing blow. I just wondered if for that reason they omitted Killing Blow on purpose or whether whomever wrote the book missed that little nugget!

Maby it's because the Daemons of Chaos their Daemons didn't get pets of Chaos Mortals ;)

Ah well, still don't mind it to much. KB with a jugger is a bit luck dependant if you ask me.

I think it is intended, as the same as we get different daemon prince for the same cost.

Not for the same cost. IIRC, the DoC Daemon Prince is 350pts.

And sucky sucky 5 Dolla

Still better than ours though  . But in general people will go for the Greater Daemons, who will scare the buck out of people.

So true, just was fooling around.

But roughly I see more armies fielding Greater Daemons though.
