Hey all, I have a question about the Chaos Daemons in Fantasy, I know I tried to do this no the Daemonic Legion site but no one answered. So can you play a fun game with Daemons and not power listing. Because I hear that Fantasy Daemons is "Cheesy" and such. I love their models and I don't know if I should do Warriors of Chaos or Daemons of Chaos. Thanks |

Yes you can make a balanced army w. daemons, itīs just that you actually have to try to make a balanced list, but some things to consider when doing a balanced & fun list (for both players) is to: 1. Donīt use a Greater daemon, theyīre too good for their pointsvalue, try out a daemonprince or a herald as a general instead. 2. Donīt use any specialcharacters (this includes the Changeling). 3. No flamers. Period, these might be the best unit in the game point for point. 4. Max 2 units of Flesh Hounds, try to use a single one if possible, max 2 units of flyers as well. 5. Load up on Core units, except for the Plagueberarers (when led by a herald) they are all very balanced & they still give you lots of tactical options. Lastly try & theme your list in some way. |

Personally, I find that Mono Khorne and Mono Slaanesh Daemons aren't cheesy at all. It's Mono Nurgle and Mono Tzeentch that are way over the top (Nurgle because of the heralds in multiple plague bearer units. Mixed armies can be good or bad. It's too easy to cherry pick the best from all gods (Plaguebearers with heralds, Flesh Hounds, Flamers). So it depends how you build your list. |

For Mono Khorne I kind of agree, but monoslaanesh w. a few Sirenīs Call, The first spell in their lore as well as the Masque & the Icon of Despair is very powerful against many armies & have proven itself in tournaments (but usually w. a few hounds & flamers as backup, but can still be very powerful if going pure). |

It's very hard to not be cheesy with Daemons, even when you succeed to make a balanced list, they still manage to excel above the rest. But I agree with the above, mono Khorne and mono Slaanesh tend to be less cheesy. |

Yeah, and you also don't have to go overboard on it all. Just try to go for some mono-god lists and try not to be lured to thake abour 30 horrors (10 a unit each) and flamers... Still have a happy gaming. |
