Hey guys!

Used this list yesterday and totally massacred VC (with Vlad and Isabella!).

Valkia the Bloody - 410

Lvl 2 Sorceror - 210
MoT, Disc, Book of Secrets, Golden Eye

Lvl 2 Sorceror - 210
MoT, Disc, Power Familiar, Dispel Scroll

Exalted hero - 196
MoK, Chaos Steed, Runesword, Shield

18 Warriors - 336
MoN, Standard, Musician, Shields

20 Marauders - 168
MoN, LA, Shields, Standard, Musician

20 Marauders - 168
MoN, LA, Shields, Standard, Musician

5 Knights - 285
MoK, Standard, Musician, War Banner

He got the first turn and moved up his Varghulf on the right flank, in my turn I shot three wounds of it with flickering fire. Sadly he used it as bait the next turn to get my knights to overrun right in front of his whole army. He charged with Grave guards, ghouls, skeletons to the front, zombies in the flank. The knights took a beating and won the combat with 8! :D
They stood there for three turns until marauders and warriors came to help, Chaos Knights are AMAZING!

Valkia is great! Had some bad luck, she charged Vlad and got two killing blows, he saved both with his 4+ ward and he only took one wound. I didn't take any, next turn I took one and he won and I fled.
Still, Valkia is the ultimate war machine/chariot/corpse cart killer, and the fact that she lets everyone within 12" re-roll break tests is just awesome! :D

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know, a fine list that worked wonders (at least VS Vampires).

In the entire game I lost three warriors and three knights, he lost everything but Vlad...

Cheers!

Good stuff! I'm not sure why he charged zombies and skeletons in there - I'm guessing directing your attacks on them is where you were getting your CR. Valkia does seem like a very effective SC, the fact she can join units makes her infinitely more useful than daemon princes.

Nice list but does everyone else really use the special characters? The game is decently balanced without(except demons) the characters but when you add them they seem so damn powerful that the army IS the special character. It seems to take all the fun out of the game. Personally, I will never use them or want to play anyone that does. I'm not trying to criticize just curious if anyone else agrees with me.

I suppose I'd be fine with it if both people were using them or if you were fighting demons.

Does he play banshees?

I think banshees is going to be one of the unit that is dangerous to us.

I have two VC players here that never play without at least 1 of them. And since a WoC list generally use lvl4 sorcerer as the general, our Ld is 8. And man, everytime he gets a wound on the Chaos Knights, it hurts like hell. And they always hide the banshees in the wood. :S

Looks quite nice indeed.

Personally I would try to fit in 2 Warshirnes to if your using Valkia. It really would make this army even better (re-roll on EotG, is very awesome)

Appart from that I must say you seem to faced a quite magic mild opponent. Would have expected the marauders to be locked in combat and flank charged. Considering your magic defence isn't the best and all.

Knight rocks, My own filosofy, anything can be solved with more knights.

Cheers,

No Horsemen or Hounds. Fast armies are going to be near impossible to really hurt with this army.

Yeah allround this army will suffer in certain cases, in special Dwarfs imho.

Appart from that, I would also add some more fast stuff and warhounds...

Actually, we very rarely use special characters, mostly just for fun every once in while. I am very fond of using Throgg and playing only monsters with Kholek as a general. Daemons and Warriors have the most powerful special characters yet, I actually think warriors even win in the cheese department. Epidemius is the only cheesy character in DoC IMO. We have Kholek as well as Archaon that are a bit over the top. And still, very few things beat a regular GUO

He actually had quite a lot of magic, the thing is he just keeps adding models to his large units. I just let those spells through since my knights will keep chopping them down anyway.

Valkia is a great general! Not having a ward save is her weakness though. If she's in a challenge and doesn't kill what she's fighting in the first turn she probably won't win. He was very lucky with his ward saves though.

Fast armies wouldn't take this army very easily I think. The knights charge and break anything that is not undead (who usually die instead and they still get an overrun), the -1 to hit on the rest of the army is good stuff. Magic is greatly powerful! Dwarfs would have problems, stone throwers and cannons would be the death of me, but still only for a turn or two until Valkia or the sorcerors can take care of those machines.

Using two warshrines would be neat, just couldn't squeeze that in though, maybe at larger point level.
