Hi! I've just started in the service of the Dark Gods, and I had this idea for a 2k slaanesh list (what can I say: sucker for themed lists  ). I'm sure there will be a lot of adjustments needed, so please comment. You know despite some minor drawbacks, this list could be very hard for an opponent to take down. However there are some areas where you could cut back on points by dropping needless items. - Standard Bearer and Chieftain on the Horsemen; keep you fast cavalry cheap, and since they are most likely going to die, don't give your opponent easy VP by giving them a banner. - Mark of Slaanesh on the Knights; they are already immune to fear, will treat the few terror causers they'll meet as fear causers, and can re-roll panic, so they don't really need the mark. - One Warrior and Marauder, since the characters will fill in those slots. Also a few things. If you are taking two level 2 Sorcerers you are evidently hoping to have some magical offense. If you want it to really take off, get rid of the Power Stone and Blood of Tzeentch and take the Power Familiar and the Book of Secrets instead. Also, Sigvald is good, but he is not good enough to fit his 415pt boots. You would be best go with an Exalted instead. You would also save loads of points, enough probably to get another unit of Knights, and with the points above another unit of Horsemen. |

Well the first thing I'd say is that, if you're going to take only 4 levels of magic, then try and get the book of secrets and a power familiar in there too - medium magic's just not great. I'd also drop the banner from the fast cav, as it makes them too costly to lose and they need to be reasonably expendable. I also prefer GW to flails on marauders personally because they both do the same in the first round of combat, whether you charge or not, and after that I'd much rather have a chance of killing things than hitting first. A couple of spawn and some hounds would be a real help too. Cheers EDIT - GM got there before me :P |

I would find points for steeds for your sorcs. I think the extra armor save is indispensible. Like Godless said...go w/ an exalted over Sigvald. You could get 2 exalteds even and some extra troops. |

I actually think Sigvald is pretty good in this army, giving stubborn to that unit is 800 points of VP denial. Hid Ld10 will also do a lot for the rest of the army. I agree with a lot of the other comments though: Swap stone and blood for power familiar and book. Drop standard and chieftain on horsemen (saves 24 points). Drop slaanesh on the knights (saves 10 points, optional though). I would consider dropping the champion for the knights, although its a difficult call. Against flying monsters he's handy but it means its harder to assassinate characters in units, its also 20 points). You could then drop the banner of wrath (gives you 80 points spare). Drop 2 marauders and a warrior 115 points spare. At this point you could drop another marauders and get a level 2 sorcerer which will give you better magic offense and defense (10PD and 5DD). You could then drop a dispec scroll and the homunculus and buy your new level 2 the rod of torment (or banner of wrath back). You now have a pretty decent magic phase to play with. Or you could keep the marauder and drop conjoined homunculus (or the knight champion) for three trolls. With sigvalds Ld10, its about as reliable as they will ever be. Incidentally I would swap the flails on your marauders for 2 handed weapons, generally a much better choice. Alternatively you can invest the extra points saved in units, atm you have no warhounds which are damn handy, with 115 points spare you could get 2 units of warhounds and a chaos spawn. |
