So, still being hellcannonless, and intend to be for some time because of cash and wanting to stay away from chosen star style lists cobbled this together. Since The scheme I have thought up for the knights is and i quote someones reaction to it "A ballache" to do it'll take a lot of time and effort. Wanted to see how this list sounded before i dedicate a months or so to the knights painting given how slow i am these days.

Sorcerer Lord, General, Lore of Shadows, Biting Blade, Talisman of Preservation, Charmed Shield, Infernal Puppet - 325 Pts.

Exalted Hero, Mark of Tzeentch, Shield, Stream of Corruption, Sword of Might, Ironcurse Icon, Talisman of Protection, Dragonhelm, BSB - 220 Pts.
Chaos Sorcerer, Mark of Nurgle, Lore of Nurgle, Talisman of Endurance, Spell Familiar - 150 Pts.

18 Chaos Warriors, Mark of Khorne, Shields, Halberds, M, S, Banner of Eternal Flame - 364 Pts.
18 Chaos Warriors, Mark of Tzeentch, Shields, M, S, C - 338 Pts.
50 Chaos Marauders, Mark of Khorne, GW, M, S, C - 300 Pts.
5 Chaos Warhounds - 30 Pts.
5 Chaos Warhounds - 30 Pts.
5 Marauder Horsemen, Flails, M - 81 Pts.

The 10 points spare is available to either add shields to the horsemen or up the mark on the knights to khorne.

My thoughts:

1) Does the BSB really need Stream of Corruption? I don't think it's that good but it has its uses. Personal taste I guess!

2) Marauder horsemen would be MUCH better with mark of Slannesh.

3) I think your investing way to many points in such a small knight unit. I would lose the standard, champion and blasted standard, and probably the mark of tzeentch as well!
A unit this small is effectively expendable and as such needs to be cheap. I would just run it 5 strong with a musician and possibly a mark of your choice.

4) Don't see the point of the warshrines in this list as none of your characters are carrying the favour of the gods to help modify rolls on their unit. Either put favour on the character you want to help buff a unit they're with, or just drop them. You can get a lot for thier points ;)

5) Seeing as though you have a second sorcerer I'd give him a dispel scroll; always a nice thing to have ;)

Nah, warshrines are always handy little tarpits, and the buff can really give a unit an unexpected edge in combat. 'Oh yeah, my frenzied, halbed warriors are now s6. Say goodbye to your tough gribblies.'
5 knights is plenty, and they're not disposable. They're hard as nails. And if people are wasting cannonballs throwing them at the knights, then at least they're not shooting the warrior blocks.

I DO agree with the need for a dispel scroll though. One successful cast of 13th and you'll never leave it at home.

Sure, if you roll a 3,4,5 or 12. The odds of that are 1 in 4. The rest of the time, you get something largely useless.

7 knights with Tzeentch and musician are usually more effective than 5 knights with full command, Tzeentch, and Blasted Standard. And cost less.

Stream I wanted to put in just for all these mass ranks we face so often :). Came at the cost of the MoS on the horsemen though, kind of tempting fate...
The dispel scroll I'll swap in possibly, though wanted the extra spell for more chance of nuking units down with the shadow and nurgle combo which is always worth a chuckle or three!
The champion in the knights, I think I simply wasn't paying attention there... But with the knights being the only non core regiment they will probably attract a lot of attention and knights are still pretty dangerous in woc, will run with and without the standard and banner, see how each go a few times locally.
And I'm firmly in the warshrine tarpit camp, very durable unit, esp with MoT (for now!)

If you like the idea of nurgle/shadow magic and running the big block of marauders, i would suggest droping the nurgle sorcerer and adding in festus. He defaulst curse of lepers, which is what you really gunning for if your running a lv4 shadow caster, plus if he is in the unit of maruaders he drastically increases their survivability rate, plus grants them poison. I actually got the final kill on a couple of characters yesterday with a lucky poison wound. Granted it keeps them from making fast pursuit, but that can play to your favor seeing as how he keeps them from being pulled out of place in the battleline. Plus if you actually catch them, bully for you. If you drop the banner and champion from the knights. you should have plenty of points to field him. You could also play around with dropping/modifying the marauder horseman to field another caster with the dispel sroll and possibly power familiar for the extra dice.
