Brettonian's power lies in getting the charge, try denying that charge as often as possible. Use hounds, and marauder horsemen to screen your bigger units and potentially redirect charges in odd directions that opens up the Bret Flank Also Brettonia is filled with high armor save low toughness troops which really suffer against anything that ignores their armor save. Lore of Nurgle, Blood Curtling Roar, Death's Head etc Slow infantry like Chaos Warriors, Chosen, or Marauders will most likely take a beating from a knight charge as they really arn't fast enough to avoid the charge. Instead use things that can be easily screened and set up for counter charges. Chaos Knights paired with hounds work fantastic for this. Also be ready to take on those bloody annoying pegasus knights as mortals will have a tough time chasing them down. |

Well, there are are lot of things going against bretonians in 8th edition. With steadfast, you can easily throw a big, cheap unit of marauders in front of his main unit and trust that they won't break, giving you time to bring a heavy hitter to bear. With the stepping up rule, your marauders might even get some kills of their own. themortalgod's advice was sound overall. You want lots of disruptive units, a few cheap anvil units, and then lots of high strength. |

Hellcannon's are fun against them, also Giant of slaanesh, dragon ogres these units are pretty good for taking out the big trains of knights, not sure how there magic will work as it's very defensive and should get quite a nice boost in the new edition. but HS/ASF is a fun way to deal with pesky cavalry also watch out for big blocks of peasants, they have a tendency to stick around when you dont want them to |

With the new rules a BSB is almost mandatory. You still need a general tough and I don´t think WoC at 1k can afford 2 characters so I would probably go with a lvl2 Nurgle Sorcerer A rough idea could be: Sorcerer ~25 Tzeentch Marauders with LA´shield ~15 Warriors equipped like you want (no xhw tough) 2x5 Warhounds Hellcannon |
