Yesterday was depressing. I took my new WoC army, all gearerd up for the 8th, to my local GW store to do battle. This would be my first 8th game. The store was quite empty with players for fantasy. The only game that was already in progress was a Lizardman army up against a WoC army at 3000 points. The WoC army was just move trays no models and had lots of marauder horde blocks, some Dragon Ogres, 2 shrines and of course "Kholek the sun eater" If I was to play at all I would have to wait for this game to get over and play the move tray army. I did wait around for about 2 hours and they were still at it with about 3 turns left. I was really looking forward to a game but this seemed like it would be a long time before we would get started and I hate playing against move trays. So I did not play and went home sadly. But it left me thinking about what if I played a real army with "Kholek the sun eater"? How would WoC handle this big guy? He is pretty impressive "even though I didn't see him" |

he use to be alot tougher to kill but now that even St 1 can hurt him on a 6 i say the best way is to hit him with multiple no armor save hits ex. blood curdling roar and plague squall they wound him on a 6 he has no ward or regen flickering fire and infernal gateway, treason of Tz so he does D3 wounds onhimself in hth he is a beast so magic and shooting are your best bet, a good hit from a hellcanon could put a hurt on him. in hth maybe throgg the troll king he is I 2 so he goes before kholek you would vomit for your attacks then another 2d6 for breath weapons so your looking at 3D6 auto hits wounding on 5+ no armor save if you run him with say 5 trolls like i do the whole unit cost 400 pts that still 200 less the kholek. with the other auto vomit attacks from the regular trolls you should be able to bring him down in a turn if you roll good. |

Kholek is pretty easy to kill. For WoC specifically, there's the Hellcannon, the Glaive/HoME Khorne build, Tzeentch and Nurgle magic, Blood Curdling Roar, etc. You have to remember he is a lone character with no means of hiding or getting a LO,S! roll. |
