Hey Darchon, Being new my self i would recommend you check out a tactics thread on warseer that someone else recommended me to try: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266118 I would take at least two units of chaos warriors: The first one with 18 (6x3) armed with two handweapons and mark of khorne or a unit the same size with halberds, shields, mark of tzeetch and banner of wrath. The second unit should have HW/shields, Mark of tzeentch. They should both have full command Hope this helps slightly, as i said im new so i don't know that much about the WoC yet, but you should check out the tactics thread. |

One thing to grab pretty quickly (and $ cheaply) would be a sorceror to give yourself a little bit of magical potential ,and a singular model with a standard to use as a BSB, as the WoC need all the Leadership rerolls they can get . There are a ton of interesting builds out there, around both here and warseer, so be sure to check around. but I love a simple tzn sorceror lord with the power familiar and collar of khorne, possibly the conjoined humunculous if you've got a few extra points to kick around. He gets a +5 to all his casting (that would be an Infernal Gateway on a 10, 9-7with the humunculous!), has a +5 ward and gives any unit he's with a +5 ward against spell inflicted wounds. For the BSB, I've fallen into a pattern of an exalted hero with a shield, mark of Tzn, the blasted standard and stream of corruption. He gets a 3+/5++ in combat and confers a nice +5 ward against shooting (ie those frustrating laser guided 8th ed warmarchines!) to the unit he's with. Also, since you are forced to challenge, I always include stream of corruption. 2d6 str 3 hits isn't devistating, but its certainly a nice surprise to spring on an unsuspecting character. Now for both of those characters, I'm very partial to a Tzn warrior block with shields to act as a body guard. All of the bonuses stack together wonderfully here to make a viciously survivable unit against most anything that can be thrown at it. These are just a few of the ideas I've tried out and had some success with. Hope this helps! |

You can easily convert your own characters from the battalion set. Saves you alot of money. |

The marks you give your army will really depend on they're purpose. However, because you are limited to the battalion i would advise making your knights mark of khorne for all the extra attacks. As for your other units the equipment you want to give them (shields, extra hand weapons, flails etc..) will determine what marks you give them. |

Or give them the mark of Nurgle and the Banner of Rage As for eq and marks - it all depends on what you want your units to accomplish. From the battalion, you could do your marauders w/ great weapons and MoK for the hammer unit and your warriors w/ just adding shields and giving them the MoT for that extra bump to the ward in HtH. Give them the Blasted Standard and then they also will have a 4+ ward vs. shooting attacks. Oh, and welcome the forum! ^_^ |
