Charmed shield; Quick question!

The charmed shield is classed as a shield, but also as a one use only item. Therefore, after you have used its ability once, does the shield cease to exist or is it just classed as a mundane shield?

If this is a dumb question I apologise; it's late and I'm confused!

Also regarding the same item, does it save you from first hit(even if the hit doesn't manage to wound you) or first wound you suffer?

Maybe a silly question but still..

1) it's a mundane shield with a one time save
2) it saves the first hit, this means you'll never even know if it failed to wound or not, it won't be rolling to wound

The bringer of pestilent rages.
it's a magic shield that rolls a 2+ save against the first hit the character takes, meaning you roll for it before rolling to wound or any saves.

It still retains the shield properties of armor value but not the parry rule after expending the 2+ save.

Know here is the thing who thinks the 2+ goes before, and who thinks it goes after LOS!?

The bringer of pestilent rages.
it comes after LoS because LoS determines if your model is even hit by the template, if he passes the LoS then he's been pushed out of the way of the incoming cannonball o death.
