You put them in the middle of a unit, and count them as as many models as the footprint of the filler, so a 50*50 mm filler would count as four models in a marauder unit.

@Stormcrow: If I'm not mistaken, "unit fillers" are some kind of "proxys" that have the porpous to make units bigger without actually having the proper models there. (Like instead of having 4 marauders in the center of your unit, you could have a base of the same size (5x5) with a couple of hounds, or a hound and just a single marauder...)
Still (at least in my opinion) they should occupy the exact same size of the models they represent.

I have a couple of those in my larger units but instead of placing an model different from the "mother unit" I tend to make a small diorama (small tree, or some rocks, ...) with one or more models of that same unit.

First post!
:D

Cheers
A.

actually most people do it to break up the monotomy of units,
lets face it, 50 night goblins are boring to look at:P
shove in a mini diarama of some netters trying to catch a cave squig presto, interesting filler

@ilnar3: That is a nice idea and it is even a logical filler (as far as logic goes in a fantasy game). I see a bunch of netters trying to catch a huge squig which is at the same time trying to eat one of the netters (feet sticking out of its mouth).

My only problem with unit fillers is when people use terrain and try to pass it off as something that could actually hurt.

I like the Ogre in the maraurders, makes sence too... but can use anything really, even a standard horse base with a tree trunk/battle debris/big stone with a single troop on it looks cool
