--==Aesina ==-- Posted Image Daemon Prince lvl 4 Wizard Mark of Tzeentch One of the Following: Fury of the Blood God giving me a 1+ ward(mark, MR2, 4+ ward from FotBG) save against magic and a 4+ ward save against normal attacks Third Eye of Tzeentch Aesina was a shaman of one of the northern most tribes hundreds of years ago. He was very fond of the war hounds that roamed the wilds and befriended many of them, as best as anyone could. At the height of his mortal life he was the master of over two-thousand war hounds. Though his tribe was small, it was fierce. First Gift: His first gift came from Khorne. As he lay bleeding on the battlefield, his army in ruins, he was confronted by the empire general that had defeated him. He knew it was foolish of this man to reveal himself. After all, this was the whole point of sending his forces to their death. To stop this young general's pulse. He knew he could have slain this general with any number of spells at his disposal. Turn the man into a chaotic nightmare to attack his own troops. But a sudden urge for blood over came him and he jumped upon the general with surprising speed. His vision blurred and when it came back into focus he reveled in this gift that was bestowed to him. He had been transformed into a might war hound. Like so many he had sent to their deaths that very day. However, he knew that he was no ordinary war hound. He still felt the pulse of chaos and had the will to form it to his liking. He make short work of the helpless general and decided that his first act with his new form would be to eat the heart of this man, and then regroup with the main force of his army. Some of the story has been changing in my head and I've not had a chance to write it down yet.. but there is the cliff note for the second gift. Second Gift: The rivers of the north ran with blood as Aesina in his blood frenzied state bathed in the blood of neighboring tribes. He had recently learned the language of the hounds and their hierarchy. As soon as he heard that the hounds of chaos were ruled by Zenobiar the Gorger and his queen Adrastos, he made moves to wrestle control from them and challenged Zenobiar to a duel. All of the war hounds traveled to the duel to witness the battle. The tribesmen noticed the migrating hounds, but were to busy to wonder why or care. The battle between the two gifted giants lasted several days before Zenobiar surprised Aesina and was able to pin him down. As Zenobiar basked in his soon to be victory, Aesina cursed himself and pled to the gods to give him the strength to conquer his foe. However, it was not Khorne that answered. Zenobiar bit down with all his strength and ripped Aesina's throat out. However, as Zenobiar turned to face his subjects Aesina lunged out at him biting into one of his hind legs and snapping his tendon. Zenobiar roared in pain and turned limping to finish off his opponent. What he saw then sent visions of shock and fear through his entire being. Aesina's body had healed. Not only healed, but he had been granted a gift from one of the gods. Aesina had been bestowed with two extra heads. The heads were of one mind and three. One head possessed the memory of a military genius, one a master of the chaotic magical arts, and the third being filled with his own bloodlust filled mind. As one the three heads thought and as one they lunged upon the crippled Zenobiar. A feast ensued that could only be matched by a starving ogre finding sleeping prey. At the end, Zenobiar was nothing but a memory. Aesina then spoke our a challenge to any and all war hounds. All bowed before Aesina. It was this day that Aesina mated with Adrastos the daemon hound queen which she later birthed five pups. Four of which command the war hounds of different regions and all bow before their father, The Hound Master. (I'll be writing more up on Aesina, this is just something quick I wrote when I should have been sleeping.. :P) I am planning on running an army of almost entirely War Dogs. I'll have a few units of Marauders to make up the few remaining humans in his tribe. |

I like the idea and fluff. I'm curious to see what an all warhound army would actually do. Are you planning to ally a monsterous horde with it, like Throgg and some other biggies, or just pups and a few marauders? |

@ ThatGood - Just planning on running Pups and Marauders for now. As I build the army I'm planning on writing back stories for each of the champions and my general. @krome zep - What Unuhexium said. Though I'm not sure if I did it right. Is it true that the hero would have a 1+ ward against magic and a 4+ ward against mundane items? I'll post some more stories tonight after work. |

@Fallen Pony - Sure it will. My main concern is the ld5 on the wardogs. But if I put them into horde formations I think they'll do pretty good. Another thing to keep in mind is that in a 2000pt game I can have 165 war dogs on the table. This will still leave me 500pts for my core and 500pts for my daemon. I'm also thinking about assigning special roles to certain packs. By this I mean, a pact of 10-15 with poisoned attacks. Or a pack of 30-40 with with the ward save. There is still a lot in the works. Another way to run this army is MSU. That will be a TON of targets and the opponent will be wasting their 20 man RxB on a 5 man pack of dogs... But again, my main concern is the 5ld. Once I find a way around that then I'm good. I'd rather not take the troll king if I can avoid it.. but If I have to I can always model him as a giant wardog as well. |

@Unuhexium - It might just be the +6 armor save. I don't have my book with me and I'm responding on my breaks. :P If it is not a ward save, I'll skip it entirely and just roll with poisoned attacks or regular attacks. I'll plan on playing the army much like a wood elf army if I roll with MSU. I'll make sure to set up at least 2-3 charges on a unit so I can break their static CR and hopefully spread their attacks around. I'm planning for the Daemon to spear head assaults on ranged units first, then turning around to get some rear charges in. Perhaps run a refused flank formation with my marauders and BSB holding the middle and exposed flank. If I end up rolling with that troll I'll give him a small 5 man unit of trolls, all modeled up to be giant war hounds as well. Still trying to decide how I want to roll with it.. |
