So I finished up two test model warriors of Tzeentch. I wanted to get an idea if you like the light blue or dark blue scheme better. The images below compare the models on white, as well as a battlefield style environment. Which style would you continue with? Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Thanks in Advance! |

The human eye is naturaly drawn to brighter objects. When looking aT them the brighter one is the first one we see. They are both painted well. The lighter one comands our attention though. |

I prefer the dark one. I think the brightest highlight should be darker as well. |

I am personally in love with the darker contrast of the darker Tzeentch warrior. I say him. |

I...think...I like the darker one better. I'm pretty sure. I was originally gonna say the brighter one, but then the comments made me realize its calling of attention was likely the main reason. It does remind me of blue Kool-Aid though, which is the only good Kool-Aid. I'm pretty sure I like the darker one more. Like, 79% sure. That's pretty good. |

I like the darker one. The bright hard-edge highlights give it that "magical glow" feel that one would expect to get from a follower of Tzeentch. |

I mixed a custom blue that lies between necron abyss and mordian blue. I modified the way I did my highlights and shading a bit for this 3rd test model as well; the one in the middle in all the photos. I like the way he came out and will follow that pattern for the rest of the unit. I didn't do the highlights for the other areas on him yet as I did on the others, so far I just the armor. Now that I have a scheme, I will paint the unit, it's filler and it's pretty movement tray. I think I will start a full army paint log rather than continuing on this thread. Thanks again for all the help! More to come soon! |

While basecoating the entire unit. I got to thinking. What if I kept all 3 blues and gave the unit a more 'chaotic' look? Do you think something like that could work, or is everyone of the belief that being very uniform is the key to a great looking unit? Given they are warriors, the models are practically all the same, or at least have the same silhouette anyway. Maybe the differences in color could work. Hmmm.... |

The "patchwork" color scheme would be really cool IMO. After all, why woulud everyone in a unit have the exact same colored armor!? And nice job, BTW, on making that middle blue. A real nice middle ground. It will really help if you do the 3-color unit. |
