Greets, Chaotic people - I bought two hellcannons after proxying them in a couple of matches. Imagine my surrprise when the cannon chambers do not align properly, and the rear furnace has a sweet 1/8" gap.  I filed one down, thinking I could make them match up - no positive result there. I know this board is full of experienced modelers and crafters - what do I do? Throw some green stuff in there and make it fit? File it down until things align? I cannot detect any warpage in the cannon shaft, but who can tell with this model? Ideas for making these well-crafted pieces work would be appreciated - I am not going to mail them off or contact GW. And as a bit of advice, if you are thinking of making one, you may as well use the Defiler conversion I have seen. It will make you happier than the sad metal version. Maybe one day there will be a plastic version .... T_T Anyway -- thanks in advance for suggestions. |

Yeah...greenstuffing the gaps is the only idea i can think of. I've heard it's a total bit*h of a model. :D Theo |

I had that same problem and I was very pissed off. I did find a solution though. I actually used a pair of hardware clamps used for holding wood together to glue the front of the model and clipped it down. Then I put the back of the model in a small vice and tightened the crap out of it to force the model together. After I removed it, added glue and used another clamp with a lot of pressure to keep it tight and together. After it dried I left it clamped and cleaned up some of the small edge gaps and reapplied more glue just to make sure that bastard would stay together. They are called 2" Irwin Handy Clamps and are about 5$ each. Worked like a charm. You can get them at most hardware stores. The vice was just a small cheap one that you can attach to a desk. Posted Image Hope that helps. |

I have had 4 Hellcannons in total and they all do the exact same thing. When you put the 2 barrel halves together they "wobble" back and forth and leave a nasty gap at the furnace area. for a $60 model, you would expect better... |

I'm having exactly the same problem as you atm coke, called gw customer services and all they said was 'send it back and we'll send a replacement' i was going to do just that but i'm pretty certain that i'll get another equally dire casting!! I've been thinking about how to make the damn thing look good as its a nice model once completed. I was thinking along the lines of what arsenal suggested but was worried in case i get cracks in the cannon or it just goes into a banana like shape but if arsenal says it comes out fine i think i'll give it a go!! |

My hellcannon fits nicely together, I can even build it up without glue and every part stays where it should. Try to get a replacement, it can only get better ;) Greetings Eta |

You're lucky. I got two right halves of a Hellcannon in the same package. Asked GW for the missing piece: "No, we don't replace missing pieces, but here's another cannon." Bloody hassle to get the darn thing to Sweden, but now I have 1.8 cannons. Only need to figure out how to build another barrel and a couple of wheels that I've used for a chariot. |

I had the same problem, called mail order but they wouldn't replace it. Instead they told me to take it to a GW and get a store manager to bodge it for me (seemed a pretty wierd response, I'm guessing they get a lot of complaints about the hell cannon fitting poorly so they do their best to minimise returns). I was going into town that day anyway so I figured I'd oblige rather than argue and showed it to the store's manager. Between clipping off the pegs that are supposed to help align the helcannon and brute force he managed to get the two halves of the barrel to snap together in quite a clean fit (no wobbling). I guess my suggestion is remove the pegs then brute force it. |
