Hey there, How do you guys assemble your warriors with Halberds? I know GW has a Halberd set but those are €11.50 for 10 of them. Quite pricy if you need 6 packs of those. So, how do you make the Halberds? Show pics as well for clarification and inspiration :) Cheers |

The same questions goes for Marauder GW's as well. |

For halberds, just use the 'lances' from the chaos knights. You can buy them on eBay from the many bits sellers. Posted Image For the Marauders, it's SUPER easy. Just use the flail arm sets, cut the flail end off, and replace it with the head of the hand weapons they provide. You easily get a good looking great weapon this way. Posted Image Posted Image Hope that helps! |

Using Flails for GW's is great, thanks for that tip. The spears however are a different matter. Although they function great as Halberds, you can see in the picture that they are missing an arm. I am not really a big fan of models missing pieces. I could cut off the weapon of every arm on the sprue though, might work... |

The only missing arms I see are the shield arms which were not likely attached when the photo was taken since it's easier to paint them on the sprues then glue them to the model so you can reach the stuff behind the shield before it covers up the area. |

Exactly as whtdwrf11 says Here is a finished model Posted Image You can also do them as two-handed halberds without the shield with the extra hand from the additional hand weapons. Posted Image None of these models are mine by the way, just some examples for you to see. Thank you Google search! :P |

Hmm, guess you are entitled to call me lazy then :) Thanks a lot for the pictures, it actually does look good. Only problem remains is that I have to give the Halberd warriors shields or cut up all additional hand weapon arms. Ah well, I guess I have to actually do some work to make it work :) |

As do we all. I had built all my marauders as flails, had them all based, but luckily I had been to lazy to the prime them before 8th came out. Chopping the flails and making cool GW's from various bits from all different armies was fun though. For the warriors, you need to make sure you can get them into combat in the 1st place, so I personally recommended the shields anyway, even with a halberd. Doesn't hurt to have the Blasted Standard in there either. GL with your conversions, and post some pics when you make a few! |

Hey Pilch, the OP mentioned them in the second sentence of his post. =P They are sort of the reason why this thread exists. |

Or just use the marauder Flail arms with an axe/Halberd head on it. Looks like they are holding it horizontally. It doubles as a Halberd and GW. ^_^ Theo |

Wow! It was quite curious to look at such warriors... they look so similar to mine... wait!? THEY ARE MY WARRIORS!!!! xDDDD hahahahahaha  @Arsenal, the last warrior it's still a WIP, as you can see, the flames I sculpted in every halberd were not painted yet =P And the base!!! It wasn't done in that time. I'll finish the standard design (only thing left to do for that unit) and will upload pics soon! Please take a look at http://nesbetminiatures.blogspot.com for more! PS: I also converted a lot of marauders weapons. There are a ton of WIP pics on my blog ;D |

I think using the chaos knight arm is one of the easiest options and you usually have a few laying about, the rest you can get from ebay, I actually like the look a lot more than the GW metal ones. One thing I would say when converting marauders with great weapons is you might want to shorten the weapon somewhat, if you look at the old metal models you will see they are like half the size of some of the ones posted here. |
