DISCLAIMER: The Chamber of the Everchosen forum staff had absolutely nothing to with this, it's a purely independent venture on my part. Purpose The reason I'm doing this is because I have far too many gray models laying around. So I figure, rather then try to force myself to paint them for the sake of painting them, why not start up a Call-to-Arms (inspired by the Bolter and Chainsword), tom inspire not only myself but also the several others with models that they wish to paint. How to Join As Christmas is just around the corner, and the holidays will offer to some signifcant amounts of time and models, while to others they'll offer reduced amounts of time as Family takes precedence over hobbying (as it should!). So in favor of keeping things in-line with different people's life styles, the amount of models presented will be different depending on how big a vow you want to take on. Vows will range in points-size from 500 to 1500 point increments. Some will want to simply expand their existing lists, while others might want to start entirely new lists! In order to enter, simply copy and paste the following, inserting the proper information where the brackets are;
How to Post your Progress You can start your own thread in either this very forum or on the Journal's forum. It is preferred if you start a new thread, for the ease of keeping track of your work, but if you already have an existing log and insist on using that one, I will make do. Your name on this main opening post will also be linked to your progress thread. PM me with the thread's URL and I'll get the link up. Models that are to be painted should not be any further along then under-coated when the Call-to-Arms begins. A before and after picture of your models should be present, to show that you actually did paint them and didn't just pick up painted models you already had. But then again, if you cheat in a friendly contest like this, who would really care? It's about inspiration, not proving you're the best. However, just for fun, there will be a little contest for Best Infantry, Best Monster/ War machine and Best Character. Why should I enter? Why? Well, first, for the thrill of the challenge, of course! Secondly, for the sake of getting inspired to complete your army or its newest expansion. Second, I will (hopefully!) be able to supply a set of signatures for those that succeed. If anyone can help me on this account, I'd be thankful, as my main computer is at the moment on the mend. But what's the price of failure? The price of failure is that you still have models to paint. ;) In more serious terms, I will also be supplying a signature (yet again, if I can manage to get my main computer up and running!) to those that failed, to denote that they have faltered before the gaze of the Dark Gods. When is a model complete? Models are considered complete when they have at least 3 distinguishable colors on them (basecoat and high light are two different colors, for example), the base is textured and painted with at least 2 distinguishable colors. Minimal under-coat is showing. There is no particular degree of skill required, so long as a model meets the minimal expectations. NOTE: Models do not have to be GW models to be entered! What's my time frame? In order to allow time for people to join the contest, it will be officially kicking off on December the 9th. The contest will end on January the 9th. You may join late, but the price will be yours to pay if you can't finish what you vowed to complete! Current contestants: - Kraytirous - Martini Henrie - Anerion -Kirgan |

Personally I find vows and deadlines more of a hindrance than a help with painting, but good luck to those involved. :) |

I'm afraid I've never spoken a word of Serbian in my life. It's always refreshing to meet someone from a different continent. :) |
