I need to get some inspiration.
I dont want to paint my nurgle WoC the same green as everyone elses. So lets hear some original paint schemes.

Umm....I think I'm going to not pick pink. I was thinking about charradon granite base coat or like the nurgle chaos space marines with the wihte armour that has trhe leaking dark lines.

Dear Fenris 249

Want to be different and have different brighter figures? May I suggest that you use paints other then games workshop. Specifically use enamels which, being oil based, will provide a glossier finish. Furthermore, the range of premade colours is significantly greater then games workshop which, for lazy painters like me, makes it easier to pick a colour knowing that I can get the exact same colour for future models.

Armour : boltgun metal with a 1:2 black/brown wash
Skin : rotten flesh base and overpaint with white for a sick pale look.

The armour can be given rust : dotting dark brown then dotting vermin brown then dotting orange

These are all very good suggestions. But I dont like doing rust. and if they have a metal base they will clash in a negative way with my chosen.

Well, when I think of Nurgle, I think of slow moving, of eternity spent in stagnation. So why not paint them to look stone-like? Granite armor? Or obsidian armor? Then dark brown capes/furs/leather.

Dear Kirgan

The armour on your minatour has been done really well. I like that engraved brnze effect that you have brought to the fore, well done.

My Nurgle will be oxidated bronze. (If that's the correct term. You know, steel rusts and bronze/copper goes all turqoise.) I'm thinking a 1:1 mix of Dwarf Bronze and Tin Bitz, followed by a wash of Thraka Green, and then some thinned down Hawk Turquoise in the recesses and random spots.

Bronze is the theme in my army, but i feel the nurgle bronze must be different, putrid and pestilent. ^_^

That is absolutely correct. I would advise that you water down the wash and add some future floor wax, to keep it resigned to the recesses. You don't want to "wash" the armor, you want to shade the deep parts. There is a tutorial, I believe, in the White Dwarf where they paint the Lord on Daemonic Mount (the new one) and make his armor oxidized just like you suggest.

Sounds good. I might want to give my armour a thiiin coat of green, but i don't want to smear it all over the place as i usually do. :P

And then get at the recesses with Turqoise. Should give a nice finish with just a few coats of paint, just how i like it because i'm lazy.

I was thinking about this too. Maybe a marble effect. Stone has long been used to represent permanent in art.

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=162940
on my plague marines.. just a few for joy of painting. wondered if anyone had seen anything similar done on chaos warriors? dont much fancy doing the typical 'green' nurgle and dont really want to 'waste' a model finding out..
