Book of Secrets and Power Familiar Questions

The power dice generated from book of secrets and the power familiar, does the bearer of the item have to use the power dice, or do they go to the pool? I know that for vamps the faq says that their vampire power that gives them 2 power dice have to be used by that vampire, but see no such ruling on BoS and PF.

The idea is to have an exalted take book of secrets and a power familiar as a power dice generator for my lvl 4. The exalted can still have shield/mounted for a 3+/5++ or 1+/6++..so protection is still decent, but it gives me a more reliable magic phase.

Those extra power dice go to the pool. Neither the army book, nor the FAQ or BRB restricts the dice to the generating character.

The Book of Secrets no longer generates power dice; go and read the FAQ. :(

Also, because of your signature, I had to point this out:

"Unuhexium"

Those extra power dice goes to the pool.

I dont have my warriors book in front of me, but the faq says...

Book of Secrets, second paragraph
Change to “Treat the bearer as a Level 1 Wizard, who may use
the Lore of Fire, Lore of Shadow or Lore of Death. He may
not attempt to channel. If he ever casts a spell with irresistible
force he must roll D6+1 rather than 2D6 on the Miscast
table.”

without knowing the exact wording of the army books BoS, i am under the impression that it is replacing the second pargraph. I geuss the next question is where the words that the book generate an additional power dice lie, or if the book of secrets entry even has 2 paragraphs lol.

The first paragraph is the fluff text. The PD generation had been in the second paragraph which has been changed.
