I am on the fence on what to buy my khorne jug lord- either crimson armour of dargan, talisman of endurance and a sword of might-for 5++ and S6 or crimson armour of dargan, talisman of preservation and a halberd, with S6 and 4++ Are there any unit or heroes who need the lord to have a magical S6 instead of a mundane S6 halberd? I can think of ethereal units and armour of morrslieb- anything else? |

You pretty much covered it. I have a dread of etherals so switched over from halberds to SoM 6 months ago. The extra bip in armor helps as well. Wraiths/Black Coach Etheral Slanns and HE mages all have wreaked my well laid plans. On the other hand, 4+ WS may be more useful. I guess it depends on your threat environment. Hinge |

I use Halberds myself, because they're cheaper and don't take up my magic item allowance. Not many Ethereal threats in my Metagame though, and the Knights can handle the ones I do run into. |

The extra armor does not factor in as chaos armor and a Jugger already give you a 1+ armor save. I'd go for the better ward save. But I can see the value in both sides of the argument. I just think the better ward save will be useful in more situations. |
