Hi all,

Anyone faced them yet? Just wondering what nasty things they can do now and best ways to fight them.

Going to buy the book soon as I try and buy all army books to... as they best knowledge is power

Reports I've heard say that they're very reliant on their buff spells. That, or characters to buff their skeleton hordes.

I have played against the new tomb kings twice. Tabled them by turn 4 with Daemons and cleaned them up by turn 5 using WOC.
A unit of 9 knights of Nurgle with a Exhalted champ with banner of rage cleaned up 7 chariots, a bone giant, a scorpion, and the nasty Necrosphinx.
Yup those buffs can be nasty, but Tomb Kings unless they get a good spell selection, crumble easy. The Necrosphinx is toast to knights whether you charge it or it charges you.
The thing to to look out for is the TK mage (I have read the book yet, so I'm guessing its a mage) that adds D3 to spells cast, which can be a pain to deal with.

I should said have adds D3 to casting a spell, so you can expect more than a few spells to sneak through.

That's the Heirotitan. The Casket of Souls adds +D3 power dice and the Heirotitan adds +D3 to all casting values within 12''

played them last night, with a mix of shadow and Nurgle spells,

Could not roll the 6's required to kill off the Sphinx, or the Titan, left them both on 1 WD, but beat up most of the army,

They look good, but are gonna be tricky to play with.

Played agianst them this weekend.
had a bit of luck. his sphinx was out of range from his mage. so he could not buff the sphinx and get those wounds of. had some bad luck with my hellcannon rushing forward for not making the LD test so it came up agianst the sphinx. my hellcannon actually held up for 4 turns and did a total of 2 wounds. not that great. but had my nurgle wizzard cast his buboes on the sphinx :D. so my cannon actually survived with only 1 wound left.

Dragon Ogres went through a unit of 6 chariots. was lucky i could charge him so i did not get the impact hits. but they went down in only 2 rounds of combat.

a hord of marauders with GW does wonders vs Tomb kings and there prince.

and was lucky to get the 2nd unit of tomb kings and char with a roll of 11 for gateway :P . so far havent had much trouble. but i will see what he brings this weekend.

I played them with WoC for the first time last night for an etc practice and it was a bone cruncher.

I won 1331 – 0 (he was denided 30pts when my last hound rallied at the board table on snake eyes  he wasnt amused)

Sphinx was a pain to kill as I hit it 3 times with the hell cannon in 5 turns and he made 2 regen saves on a 6! Git. Ended up killing it with roar.

Apart from a buffed tomb guard with tomb king unit, sphinx and casket there isn’t that much for WoC to worry about. Higher I, good armour and high S/T means Tomb kings have a tough fight.

Only down side is we cannot use the eye to use their spells as most state “friendly undead unit”
