Ok, so this isn't really a question about our army, but I'm facing a dwarf player, and he is saying that the Runesmiths and Rune Lords still generate extra dispel dice like they did in 7th edition. Now, in 7th edition, this rule was mentioned in the base rule book. Now, they get a free +2 to dispel rolls. My question is do the Dwarves still generate extra dispel dice for Rune Smiths and Rune Lords in their army, and if they do, can you tell me the source that validates his claim? |

According to the dwarf army book, Runesmiths and Runelords add extra dispel dice in their enemy magic phase .. +1 dice for runesmiths, +2 dice for runelords. (Couldn't find any errata that claimed otherwise.) And the +2 bonus to dispel is to represent their inherent resistance to magic (thus they get +2, instead of the bonus a wizard would grant.) Spells and dwarves never really went hand in hand :) (Note that they loose the +2 to dispel bonus if they ally with an army that includes a wizard.) |

According the rule book the number of dispel dice generated is equal to the highest D6 roll of the two winds of magic dice. According to the Dwarf army book pg. 30 "Runesmiths , Runelords and Anvil of Doom" - Runesmith gives 1 extra dispel dice , Runelord gives 2 extra dispel dice and the Anvil of Doom gives 1 extra dispel dice. So all 4 together gives 4 extra dispel dice. From the Rule Book pg. 35 - Dwarfs/Dwarf army innate magic resistance gives a +2 bonus to all dispel attempts. |

Thank you for the replies. I don't have the Dwarf Book, and my friend must have missed that section, because he wasn't quoting that has his source. Well, that sucks, but guess those Stunty bastards still get them. Thanks everyone :-D |
