I've seen Catachans used as well. Would need a bit of converting though...

I am currently painting up the old metal bestigors for my mauraders of khorne with great weapons with the slaneesh exaltedmodel on foot as the leader (fluff he attracted them or something similar)

I've used plastic catachan and cadian to boost my marauders. Catachan body + Marauder horsemen heads/arms are effective and give a wildman look. Cadian torsos for armoured troops. file off insignia and pockets.

I use Empire Flagellants for mine. Looks like a unit of Cultists, which fits quite nicely with a Tzeentchian or Slaaneshi army.

I am thnking about making mine out of a mix of Mauraders and Beastmen. Maybe just Beastmen, as the models are just so cool.

As long as you don't use them for anything else, that's a great idea. I would suggest using an over-the-top color scheme (coal-black fur with glowing red eyes or something), because it will both make them look unique and prevent any confusion should you team up or play against a Beastmen player.

Rothgar, why do you assume a beastmen player wouldn't use an over-the-top colour scheme? :P

What sane beastmen player would use an over-the-top color scheme, like bright yellow? I say go for bright yellow, nobody would ever use that. ;)

Just clarify to your opponent what they are beforehand. If you see beastmen marching alongside Chaos Warriors, Knights, Exalted Heroes and what-not, I think your opponent should make the connection!

Either that, or he'll think we're in 6th edition again. ;)

And mrtn, when I say over-the-top, I mean something like Kraytirous said.

I'm sure that Kraytirous have seen my beastmen which, by a weird coincidence, happen to be yellow. ;)

Seriously, I've seen beastmen in every colour there is. :)

I gave some strong consideration to using one or a combination of these collectors units:

I like the Halberds so the Leopolds or Pirazzo would look kool and different.
In the end I just converted the axe blades from the small weapons onto the end of the flail handls, cutting-off the flail bits.

I dont own a single marauder miniature.. I made mine from a mix of beastmen gors and empire flagelants.. a bit expecive yes, but totally worth it, the normal gw marauders looks just awfull IMO.

Cheers

I just run a "mixed herd" Oh wait, they did away with that. :P

I use my gors as marauders all the time. Seems perfectly natural to me.

I have Gor bodies, pre-Storm of Chaos Warrior Arms and new Warrior shields. The heads are all the new Warrior helmets but I've shaved off all the horns (leaving just tusks on those few).

I really like them but I don't use HW/Sh Marauders any longer.
