Hello, what are your favourite Sorcerer and Sorcerer Lord builds? Also please post any interesting or fun builds you've yet to try out, as I, and probably many others, will be interested in seeing them and trying them out. :)

Here's one standard dead-'ard invulnerable guy:

Sorc Lord
Lvl 4
MoTzeentch
Disc of Tzeentch
Talisman of Preservation
Charmed Shield
Infernal Puppet
(Stream of Corruption)
(Conjoined Homunculus)

The gifts are just what I'd give him. I think he'll serve me well against any opponent. He can do lots of different things!

I have two builds I like to use, a (relatively) cheap one for competitive lists and a more expensive Tzeentch one that gets to fly around on his own.

Sorcerer Lord - 375 Points
Level 4, Lore of Heavens
Charmed Shield, Conjoined Homunculus, Infernal Puppet, Talisman of Preservation

Sorcerer Lord of Tzeentch - 455 Points
Level 4, Lore of Tzeentch
Biting Blade, Conjoined Homunculus, Disk of Tzeentch, Enchanted Shield, Infernal Puppet, Mark of Tzeentch, Talisman of Preservation, Third Eye of Tzeentch

How do you get Lore of Heavens? I though you could only have Fire or Death (or chaos Lore)

Unmarked Sorcerer _Lords_ can take lore of fire, death, shadow or heavens.

My favourite build is MoT, disc, talisman of preservation, charmed shield, infernal puppet and maybe throw in bloodcurdling roar to give him something to do in the shooting phase since he often finds himself standing next to my opponent's artillery since he's quite safe there.

I pretty much use the standard Tzeentchain build (disc, tal of preservation), but rather than use Charmed shield and Infernal Puppet, I use conjoined hormunculous and a power familiar. I find that boosting a sorc lord's magic power is more important.

I also find that discs of tzeentch don't work too well if they are the only flyer on your list, so I use a Sorcerer (or BSB + Book of Secrets + Spell Familiar) on a disc as support. Having seen the new Tomb Kings spell list, I'll probably start giving this support mage Third Eye of Tzeentch from now on.

Here's a support/Low point level caster I like the look of:

Sorcerer
Lvl2
Enchanted Shield
Spellfamiliar
Sword of Might

170p

He's actually kinda fighty!

Sorry for double post guys! However, I just remembered a build of mine wich got lots of interest on Warseer. Here's a similar one who goes in my unit of Nurgle knights with Banner of Rage:

Sorc Lord
Lvl4
Lore of Shadows/Death (Nurgly)
Charmed Shield
Chaos Runesword
Dawnstone
Spellfamiliar
Barded Chaos Steed

He's kind of a beast in combat with 5 Str5 attacks+mount, has a 1+re-rollable AS and deflects first hit on a 2+ and has 5 spells from his chosen lore. The only thing that's missing is a Ward, but he shouldn't need it with that survivability I think...:D

That's only 4 attacks on the sorcerer when you do not put him in a unit with the Banner of Rage. But my fighty build looks very similar.
