The Chaos Renegade army gave me some inspiration. In the 40k universe I plan on supplementing some of my Chaos Space Marines points for Chaos Renegades. I don't see them viable as a stand alone army. I also love chaos space marines too much. This got me thinking though. Has anyone ever wanted to create a chaos empire army and convert/paint them to look all evil. Thoughts? Edit- I was thinking of having a empire army freshly converted to chaos. Handgunners marked with nurgle. Great swords marked with khorn. Or a undivided army. Doesn't matter just a evil version of the empires units. |

Hmm... It could be interesting, and not too hard to do for some of the lighter elements. The big problem is that marauders and warriors are on a larger base size. Still, if you get your hands on enough 25mm bases, you could have some very unique marauder units. I don't really think Empire has anything that would work for Chaos Warriors without heavy conversion, though. |

I'd play it with empire rules, and just model the stuff as Chaosy. Theo |

That is how I planned it. Maybe marking them at a later time. |

Cult is the key word for me. I'd make it a chaos cult. :D Cultists: Statetroopers. Possibly deamonic warmachines. War Altar as a Chaos Altar. Flaggies as crazed chaos loonies... Theo |

Cultists are fun, but can be hard to find good models for. Here's a few of mine: Posted Image Posted Image Note that these are on 20 mm bases. |

The ones in the first pic is an old regiment of renown called the Red Redemption. Pretty rare nowadays I think, I was very lucky to get the ones I got for the price I got them at. The second pic is mostly Mordheim minis, with a few from other manufacturers, such as Ral Partha Europe. |

I've been thinking of this for a while, actually. The only problem for me so far has been the Warriors. But, luckily, I have a way around this. On GW's website, right after they made the rules for 8th ed., they started doing all these articles about the Island of Blood sets, and how to use them to build a large army. Well, they made an article about Allies, and how to use 2 armies together. Here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/...p?aId=12600003a If you look at the bottom, you'll see a small skaven force that would normally be unplayable, next to a normally unplayable WoC force. But combined, they form a tough, yet hard hitting army. You could theoretically do the same with Empire. The way I thought to do this, since the new Storm of Magic is here and there is a range of new Sorcerers, you could use one of the new WoC Sorcerers as a form of general to the Empire part of the army. He could represent a Wizard that rose to power through the raw power of the Chaos moon. The WoC part would represent whatever small warbands are wandering about the forests of the Empire. Just my thoughts on this... I've been trying to find a way to spice up some of the armies that are in Fantasy by doing this. The inspiration really comes from the Storm of Magic Books on Blacklibrary. If you read the info on The Darkest Hour, you'll definitely be looking at wizards completely different. |
