Posted Image There is a buzz going around that Warriors of Chaos, is going to get a update soon in White Dwarf. Just like Vampire Counts did this past month in White Dwarf. The BIG rumour is that the Manticore are going to be a rare choice for us. Sounds like GW wants to sell more Manticore models to me! As a stand alone model? Opponents will get too many easy points off it. Even though it could be fun model to play with. GoC |

"Going around" where exactly? Is this a rumour you've heard, or one you're starting? |

I would not want to get ANYONE at Games-Workshop or White Dwarf in trouble, Let's just say a little birdie told me or I noticed the rumour online. :D *now you should always take any rumour with a grain of salt* GoC |

I have not heard anything about any rumors. But I will say that I wouldn't field a manticore as a rare choice ever. A flying monster that has to charge with no armour... What a complete waste of points that would be. |

IF it had a 4+ scaly skin save, i might take it, but it would have to be amazing for me to even consider using it instead of my beloved hellcanon |

There are only really a couple of changes that WoC would need (compared to armies such as Dorfs, Dark Elves, Daemons of Chaos, etc.). A couple of items would need to be revised due to MR rules changes and giving Chaos Lores Lore attributes, both could be done as an ammendment in the next WoC FAQ (although if they were really going to add lore attributes to existing rulebooks then they would have been added in the BRB). |

oh my god!!!!!!!!!!! that's the best news i have heard in months!!!!!!! i really can't wait for an upgrade to our army book!!!!! by the way, i think that IF they are going to give a new monster to every army on White Dwarf, WoC will be one of the next. Why?: Orcs already got one. Khemri are full of new monsters Ogres are getting also a bunch of Vampires are done. Dwarfs and Empire are not a "monster" army. Demons are all monters :) So, what is left? the three elves, bretonnia and WoC. Bretonnia has got a book coming out, or so the rumors say. Which leaves us with the pointy-ears..... |

If it's true & we don't get a nerf, them I'm all up for a new update, even if it's as small as the VC one. |

To be honest if they just fixed half out current stuff, like Shaggoth's, for 8th Ed I would happy with that 265pts for Cannons/arrow fodder just isnt worth it |

Theoretically, given the nature of WoC, we would likely get 2 (3?) monsters instead of one. Given that Storm of Magic has now provided official rules for a lot of semi-official Forgeworld models (Chaos Warmammoth, and I think giant Chaos Spawn), they will likely appear in the new book (although this will mean doubling up with the Forgeworld upcoming release which reintroduces Chaos Dwarfs and a couple of other Chaos stuff (mostly Nurgle-centric)). |

I know that Forgeworld would love have Chaos Dwarfs become official in a Chaos Warrior army. But I doubt that would ever happen, be cool if it ever did though. Now White Dwarf is going to be more of a player in FAQ and updates to army books. But who knows if Games-Workshop changes it's mind again on that also. By the way I still think adding a Mantacore does little or nothing for WoC, except for people who want to play with the new model, by it's self. To me it would be more about selling models, then upgrading the WoC army book. GoC |

Depends on the cost, as always. If the price tag is 200+ points, you're probably right. If they give it to us in the 180-185 range, it's worth considering. |

You're kidding, right?! At 180 points a Manticore would be more expensive than a Hydra, have worse leadership but have to make leadership checks every turn, have 1/3rd the number of attacks of a Hydra, no breath weapon, no armour, no regeneration or ward save, but would fly so have superior movement. At 110 points I *might* consider it *if* I already had a model. |
