5-wide Skullcrushers; An option to consider?

Hey guys,

I just had a thought pop into my head, and that is - why not run units of Skullcrushers 5 wide? They have the same frontage as a Marauder Horde (so you can't really say it's going to be terribly unwieldy), and that extra "oomph" from having the 5th guy can make a difference in combat, or in weathering shooting as you march forward. Furthermore, you can always reform their frontage to something smaller if you need it to be. A Rare allowance at 2500 has just enough room for 2 x 5 Skullcrushers with a musician, which are pretty terrifying units to face.

So... What do you think?

if they hav cannons/bolt throwers i would however if they dont i wouldnt since 4skullcrushers is just wide enough 2 cover a unit 5 20mm bases wide, n keep the 5th 1 in the 2nd rank since he doesnt lose attacks. Another thing is they chew a big chunk of ur deploy space

A fair counterpoint, but so do units of 4 Skullcrushers and Marauder Hordes, and people still field them. I do think it favors the rest of the army being more MMU in nature so that it all fits, though.

2 units of 5 are the way to go if you don't want any other rare unit. As for frontage, it really depends on the situation.

Not much of a fan of Warshrines beyond the Chosen EotG exploitation. The chart is a bit too random, and the Shrines themselves die too easily to ranked units.

Are skullcrushers in the new chaos book that came out? I'm in Japan so I might have missed a few things.
