rothgars thread got me thinking. im getting tired of using a lvl 4. i think he is a better option but i need a change, so im going to start with a chaos lord. thinking this typical build in a 2400 / 2500 point list lord shield tzeench disc talisman of press 3+ ward dragonhelm 1+ armour, 2+ward v flaming stubborn crown biting blade. we know what this guy does. run straight at the enemies biggest baddest unit and pin it in place. now the rest of the army has to clean up the rest of the enemy. fast!! first thing im including is a unit of 3 jugglers, muso, standard bearer with banner that lets you reroll first failed ld test (incase i fail a bait test). outside that im not sure what i want to do. im thinking lots of chaff maybe some fast cav ( seekers??) knights. biggest problem is how should i build my core and magic?? input appreciated. thanks guys!! |

Seekers are awesomely fast. With their 12" (move before first turn...mind blank, but you guys know what it is called) and then a 20" march (this assumes you got first turn) you can easily slip through any gap in their battle lines and just start picking off war machines and chaff from almost the beginning of the game. |

I would go with a level 2 scroll caddy with collar of khorne maybe on a steed in a unit of knights. I would then try to build a list around as many units of juggers and knights you can fit for your point level. Maybe even go with an all marauder/horsemen core that will act as a series of road blocks/re-directors. I would go for two units of 8-10 knights, if possible, and two units of 4 crushers with musicians. |

I my opinion the only support that is totally essential is the BSB close enough to give him a reroll once he starts fighting. You dont need to build the rest of the army to specifically support him, they will do it well enough naturally once they start marching forward. I would go for a BSB in knights, and deploy them side by side, wherever on the battlefield that is. The rest of the army just turns up and runs forward |
