correct, so Dragon Ogres are one of the few units in our list that would not benifit from that spell.

I don't think they would need to anyhow. Since it looks they have heavy armor (or may get access to heavy armor), at best they will have a 3+ save, which is more than enough

That would be devastating. Those things would plow through just about anything at that point. :D

It be nice and scary to see haha but totally unnecessary. 4 wounds with a 1+? Whineseer would have a field day with that.

Agreed. I think it would really steal the thunder away from skullcrushers at that point.

Skullcrushers would be completely obsolete in comparison!

That 1+ save is one of the skullcrushers main attributes, it would be unfair if the dragon ogres had such easy access to it.

However, the spell will still be awesome at lending amazing armor saves to our warriors and even descent armor saves on marauders if one wished.

2+ armor save halberd warriors will be a beautiful thing! Especially in conjunction with marks and possible warshrine bonus (what ever that turns out to be)

Indeed! Cannot wait to have 2+ warriors! Nearly all Khorne-lists seem viable when they have defensive magic phases (: a lvl 3 metal sorcerer will do well alongside a combat oriented army!

But do scaly skin stack with scaly skin?
the metal spell gives the unit a 'SS 5+'. I could be wrong but I would say it replaces and SS save it already has not stacks.

Basically you cant have the same special rule, scaly skin, twice.
If you had Scaly Skin 4+ and gained SS5+ from Glittering Robe you'd take the higher value, if your SS was a 6+ you'd take the 5+. That's how I've been lead to believe it anyways.

This is correct.

My problem with LoM is its short range. Lets hope our other lores will shine on this part. I really liked Heaven with the 36" lightning and the meteor.

As I play against DE pretty often I simply love the idea to cast metal magic missiles against the 1+/negative ward dark pegasus riders. Also it's good to have more ways in CC to get thru strong armour. Occam's is difficult to cast while LoM has 3 spells to help with lower casting values.

As for Glittering Robes... What do you think about equipping our marauder horsemen with light armour to have war machine hunters with 3+ save? It should protect them against the first turn salvoes, though the casting range is very short.

Most times when i vs dark elves they r kind enough 2 bring a unkillable lord with metal magic, use 3rd eye n poof dead lord free 400points+

Marauder Horsemen with a 3+ save sounds useful, but yeah the range is a definite problem.

Im going to probably opt for lvl 4 using shadow and lvl 2 or 3 using shadow (if lvl 2s get option). Shadow is a great battlefield/conflict control mechanism that has excellent range, and something in it for everyone. Metal, while totally appealing on the surface, loses a lot of its umpf against unarmored/low-AS opponents.
